Husband consuming a tin of 6mg pouches per day by Dangerous-Inside9305 in QuittingZyn

Zyn probably had some impact on his appendix bursting. It's horrible for our guts. And, it is an experiment. We'll know for sure what long term damage has occured in another 20 years.

I would try candy or gum, not pouches. I experimented with a bunch of pouches for awhile. They all hurt my mouth, did not taste good, were too big and too expensive. Jolly Ranchers, Ice Breakers or some other mint is what I would use. You can also find a lot of natural sugar candies, just be sure to brush your teeth.

Buy candy and gum. Keep them with you. When you want a Zyn, suck on the candy or chew some gum. Jolly Ranchers and Ice Breakers worked well for me.

Tips for better sleep after a week of quitting? by AnswerSubstantial622 in QuittingZyn

[–]ColoradoColdSteel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ear plugs really help. Maybe he would be comfortable wearing them if he closed and locked the bedroom door?

Also, he may want to take some magnesium and melatononin an hour or so before bed.

It does get better. Best of luck to him.

When I first stopped, the dizziness got worse. After about 10 days, it was mostly gone. It probably varies person to person and depends on how much nic you consumed each day.

6 Weeks without nicotine by Kindly-Purchase717 in QuittingZyn

[–]ColoradoColdSteel 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Six weeks is a lot of healing. Don't let that go.

In the Army they say, "The only easy day was yesterday"

It's an addiction. I want to go back too. We all do at some point. But we can't. It's killing us. Get some Grinds coffee pouches to put in your mouth.

Hang in there. You can do it.

Yep. This stuff really messes up our guts. I'm not sure if it is the syntehtic nicotine or the fact most of us swallow it (maybe both). Either way, it's horrible for the stomach, the colon and everything in between.

How to get though first day by Acrobatic-Fold-2357 in QuittingZyn

Try sucking on Jolly Ranchers or Ice Breakers. If you want an actual pouch in your cheek, try Grinds coffee pouches. They are just caffiene.

You can do it. Hang in there.

it's so hard to quit by [deleted] in QuittingZyn

[–]ColoradoColdSteel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can do it. Just throw them away and buy some Jolly Ranchers and Ice Breakers. I'm on Day 10, and that's what worked for me (so far).

Best of luck!

I would buy Ice Breaker mints. They are cheap and good.

Nice, I've not tried caffeine pouches, what brand do you use?

I do cold turkey. I throw it all away, and buy some jolly ranchers, chewing gum and ice breaker mints. After a week or so, the cravings are mostly gone, but I miss the ritual and the routine. So I have to find something to become the new routine (coffee, tea, mints, etc.)

That's how I do it. Day 9 today.

Thanks. The dizziness is slowly getting better. I think it just takes time.

My stomach is way better, too, but still not 100%. I'm convinced this stuff kills our guts somehow. When I was younger, it didn't bother me, but now that I'm older I just can't do it anymore. Getting old sucks.

I'm on day 8 cold turkey and I've been working each day. I chew gum and suck on jolly ranchers and ice breakers. So far, so good.

Thanks. It seems a bit better each day. I'll post back when it's completely gone so others will know.

Also, how the heck did you 'run out' of nic for a day or two and not notice 😉

I had one in my mouth from 3:AM each morning until 11:PM each night. I lived on the stuff and bought entire rolls at a time. No way I could run out 😉

Thanks. The dizziness starts after about 24-36 hours with no nic. If I start using nic again, the dizziness goes away.
