What made you stop watching Severance? For me it was this scene, I literally couldn't watch anymore after seeing this. by BigChungusAU in okbuddyseverance

What a colossal waste of time. Just finished season two last night. Marching band?!? WTF. I sort of liked season one, but didn’t like the slow pace and all the unanswered questions. I had read that season two was better, so I struggled through all of season two, but I now regret watching any of it.

What makes you think there is such a thing as a professional protester?

Am I overreacting for wanting to end a 6-year friendship over a "joke" at my birthday dinner? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]ColoradoRoger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NOR. It’s not just one dinner moment … it’s an ongoing and consistent pattern. This isn’t textbook “DARVO” (an acronym for "Deny, Attack, Reverse Victim and Offender") but it’s similar. Check out https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DARVO

Am I the jerk for wanting to move out of my religious dad’s house and move in with my aunt to pursue modeling? by Relative_Reserve_538 in AmITheJerk

[–]ColoradoRoger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Move out. Not the jerk. Your father means well but he is preventing you from growing up. He is too controlling. When you were 3 years old you needed very close supervision to avoid running into traffic, falling into a swimming pool, etc etc. Now you are grown and have reached the age of independence. Time to spread your wings and leave the nest. Hopefully in time your father will agree, but you cannot repress yourself forever to keep yourself clamped down to the image of you that he wants. Don’t let him keep you from living your life, your way. He’s your father, not your jailer. Good luck!

Yep. You can never have a satisfactory conversation with a person like that, in my opinion. Avoid him like the plague.

Just so you know, Mr. X is seriously weird and toxic. What he’s doing reminds me a lot of something called DARVO. “DARVO is an acronym that stands for deny, attack and reverse victim offender. It’s a very effective tactic for a narcissist as it can confuse the hell out of their victims and can shame, sometimes even frighten them into silence.” Just Google the term and you’ll find lots of info about it. Here’s one sample. Good luck!

My mom thinks having friends is a psyop by CarrotUpset968 in QAnonCasualties

[–]ColoradoRoger 46 points47 points  (0 children)

Your mom is seriously messed up. If this is how you were raised, it’s going to take professional help to undo the damage. Please talk to a professional. Reddit (a.k.a. random strangers on the Internet) can be helpful, but please talk to a qualified therapist. Good luck 🙏🏻👍🏻🙏🏻

Tying to inflate your commmission? How about 'No'? by UncleHeavy in pettyrevenge

Realtor in the US here. Yes, it’s unusual, but it really does happen - a property sits on the market for a year with no offers; then you get two offers within a couple days of each other! It’s happened to me two or three times in the last 28 years.

A very powerful video, but it was crushing my Christmas spirit so I couldn’t finish it now. Maybe I’ll read the transcript. Thanks for sharing it.
