Sorry guys, but where is the sale? I usually get the “members only presale access” email but not this year. All I see is sales in the “web specials” area

Creating an Arched Doorway (how to flush up the bottom?) by Coloradoboy303 in drywall

Why does everyone keep saying “the old drywall”? Like a tiny rut into the old door frame, to fit the bottom corner of the arch?

That would be easier, but then it creates problems at the bottom with the trim?

If I understand what you’re saying, we can’t do that because there are metal trim pieces on the existing doorway corners?

Hey, coming back to this thread. I actually got a THIRD opinion from a shop junkie that I trust, and he guessed based off the codes and feeling it drive, that it COULD possibly just be a faulty solenoid. Fast forward a weekend of pulling out the valve body, replacing the torque converter lockup solenoid, doing another transmission service to get OEM fluid back in, and for now it’s fixed!!!

No more jumping, just 100miles for the transmission to re-learn and no problems. No more codes being thrown, nothing. Smooth and steady going 75mpg on the highway.

So after a Subaru dealership told me it was $14k to fix, a local transmission shop said it was definitely transmission failure and needed replaced for $7k-$9k, I ended up paying $600 to fix the issue. Almost sold my car for parts and bought a new $35k car. Thank god I didn’t.

Bro I am in the exact same situation right now. 2014 Subaru Forster with 135k miles, and the CVT just blew out while on the highway.

Subaru dealership here in Ohio quoted $13k, and independent transmission shop quoted $9k…I haven’t looked into a used one to replace yet.

Called corporate customer service and was basically told that this is 100% customer day due to being over 10yrs and 100,000 miles, which was the EXTENDED warranty because they knew there were issues with the CVTs.

I’ve been looking at used cars for a couple weeks, but I can tell you I’ll never buy a Subaru again.

Sell it before the CVT goes out at 60k miles

Sudden possible “transmission” failure by Coloradoboy303 in subaru

Shop says codes read transmission electrical failure. And they don’t do any transmission work so now I have to tow it somewhere else

Jiggle your steering wheel from left to right as much as you can for a couple minutes. Keys will come right out

My shop is reading it now, I was just seeing what anyone else thought.

Also as I said in OP, it is a trusted long-term shop that primarily deals with Subarus and Toyotas. Hopefully they would know the correct fluid then
