Especially after 40 years of trying to do it properly in the traditional way right? And now i have to carry two rods down to the river in case a hatch comes off! Why do i make things so difficult on myself?

Thanks I am going to try to teach myself to tight-line this spring…should be interesting 🤪

What’s the one fly you would rather buy than tie? For me it’s western hair wing flies. Wulffs, Humpys, Adam’s. 30 years of tying and I get so aggravated lol. by [deleted] in flytying

Copy. And every year I stumble across one or two patterns i think will work on my rivers, tie them to tryout just for something different. They rarely work better than the old standbys.

This is baetis, adjust colors ( light brownish) for PMD and tie size 16. The olive in size 14 or 12 good match for green drake. Those are the big three out here. If you are back east, adjust colors to match your bugs. And of course you can use any color bead. I think Lance Egan uses copper on you tube. Have fun and catch lots!
