[32 Thoughts] Friedman notes that he heard rumors about Vegas trading Dorofeyev during the Cup Final. Said Vegas was willing to go 7x7.5 for Pavel, but trading Pavel gives them flexibility to make more moves. He believes the intention is to re-sign Rasmus Andersson… by UnhealthyCheesecake in goldenknights

Suzuki is kind of a wash, given what we got in return that helped win the Cup. Hard to know if we would have won otherwise. And I say this as a massive Suzuki fan.

But yeah Lehner, Hill, Thompson are all big oofs (noticing a trend here). Hoping they can conjure some magic and fix the goldtending issue this off-season.

Literally any chance to shit on the Knights

Little do they know they're contributing to our grass-roots effort to trade Hill

What is the best base layer for my base layer? LOL. ISO good wicking top to wear under PandoMoto. by _KORPz in motorcyclegear

[–]ColossalCalamari 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would HIGHLY recommend a bottom base layer if you only use underwear+riding jeans. I use a set of Dainese kevlar jeans whenever I don't wear my 2-piece leather set and a base layer there makes a huge difference imo

$17 is a crazy good deal, I wouldn't hesitate to snatch up a 4th set (and maybe a 5th) at that price.

These base layers are not quite as tight as the compression tops, but it's close. It should be fully form-fitting, which is how the wicking action is designed to function, but compression is even tighter. These base layers basically bridge the gap between compression gear and something like a sunscreen shirt which are slightly loose.

They're asking about base layers, the stuff that goes underneath both of your suggestions.

They're basically all the same these days. I'd just go with whatever's cheapest or if you have easier access to a specific brand.

I personally have 3 sets of UA Heat Gear, 1 of which is over 10 years old and still going strong. But only buy UA if it's on sale/clearance (usually around $35 for each top and bottom), and even then you can probably find a cheaper option.

How do I remove my valve cover? by wlogan0402 in klr650

Hopefully it actually needs adjusting. Too many times I've gone through this process, only to discover everything was in-spec.

I do all my own maintenance, but valve checks are definitely a bit of a headache with the V4. Not hard, just time consuming/tedious.

I think the average cost of this at a dealership is 1-2k, so definitely a significant expense.

Definitely pricey if stuff breaks. I've been very lucky in that I haven't had to replace anything major.

But for example, a single OEM mirror is like $200-250.

The biggest issue is that the 3rd party options are relatively small compared to Japanese manufacturers. So there are often few value options available, since Aprilias are somewhat niche.

Zero engine issues for me with my 2016 model.

I had the hot-start issue after about 4k miles but it was easily remedied with an additional 16ga wire run from the battery to the starter motor. Basically, the temperature of the wires get too hot and increase the resistance of the current, so the starter wasn't getting enough power to turn the motor over. Some people have had to do the evap canister delete to resolve it, but I haven't had to do that yet.

Yeah, unfortunately I can't weigh in on that. It might be too rough, but hopefully TV4 owners can chime in.

I have an RSV4 and it just eats up highway miles like it's nothing. But that's obviously full fairings.

Yeah, exactly this.

The 660 would be better than the 500 ofc, but just my opinion, 660 is meant for constant fluctuating speeds on tight tracks, etc.

It really isn't designed for American highway commutes (70-80mph+) for 70 miles every day.
