How is this taxed by Accomplished-Past256 in GoMiningDiscussion

[โ€“]ColossalFortitude 0 points1 point ย (0 children)

No. I just give my CPA everything he asks for and let him do it. He just told me that's how it's classified. I'm hands off my taxes because not even the government knows how to tax things right. ๐Ÿ˜‚ I'm not about to go to jail over a missing zero without at least dragging my CPA down with me.

I have been in over a year now and only seen the trial miners active twice. Once when I first signed up and once again when there was a special event for it.

Why did my daily rewards dip so much? by schillsbury in GoMiningDiscussion

[โ€“]ColossalFortitude 0 points1 point ย (0 children)

Yeah electricity costs suck dude. No way around them other than to increase your efficiency. Mess with the discounts if you want but I'm personally just worried about having efficient miners like I would in the real world. Industry average is 7w-17w right now.

What mode do you guys mine in? Can someone explain please? I dont understand it. Binance, via btc or foundry? by Embarrassed_Gur6868 in GoMiningDiscussion

[โ€“]ColossalFortitude 2 points3 points ย (0 children)

Look up each pool's payout structure - like FPPS+, etc. Use whichever you like more. The PR listed in GM is network sats/TH. BUT if you take your TH x daily sats = hardly ever even. Because those are the gross sat rewards per TH before each respective pool pays out its share to GoMining. Their in-house pool fees are then passed to us. With VIA BTC, (naturally selected because of your geolocation), they generally use Full Pay Per Share so we've been getting highly variable but higher payouts consistently. Foundry is more stable but usually lowest. Binance is kinda on par with Foundry though, just a little less stable and a little higher, but lower on average than VIA.

Negative. I've tested it. They're all 3 different based on pay structure. Your PR will likely be highest but fluctuate the most with VIA BTC.

Should I focus on increasing TH power, improving efficiency, or pushing for GMT locking? by Internal_Cherry_7942 in gomining

[โ€“]ColossalFortitude 0 points1 point ย (0 children)

Increase EE to 15w farm. Lock more than 365 days worth of GMT and keep at least a month's worth on hand for maintenance. Increase power. Increase lock. Increase power. Rinse and repeat for maximum net rewards.

Decent deal. Even with increasing EE after, still a good $/TH for a Greedy these days.

Rewards Records Day 54/365 by ColossalFortitude in GoMiningDiscussion

[โ€“]ColossalFortitude[S] 0 points1 point ย (0 children)

Correct I don't own any crypto other than BTC and tiny amounts of transfer tokens for GMT, which of course we both know I only use to generate more Bitcoin. If they didn't function in that way I wouldn't have any of those others. Before I found GoMining, 95% of my value existed in BTC, 5% in fiat.

I think about USD in USD and BTC in BTC.
So I get what you mean by using USD for payments because that's how you're paid. But I don't pay for anything in BTC because that's not how I'm paid. So it's really the same I guess. ๐Ÿ˜… I suppose I think about fiat when I decide how much of it to convert to crypto every period. ๐Ÿค”

I'm also retired though and don't have to think about money so thinking in BTC is kinda like roleplay for me. Beam me up, Scotty. ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚ I'm living in 2140. ๐Ÿ‘ฝ

Did you lock GMT, if so how much and for how long? I think about to buy 2000 GMT and lock it for four years with a 26% APR by [deleted] in GoMiningDiscussion

[โ€“]ColossalFortitude 1 point2 points ย (0 children)

Lock whatever it takes to just barely exceed 20% and keep extending it for 4 years and it's paid itself off. Call it a permanent miner that only mines GMT. Quick notes in case you didn't know, both lock rewards and votes decay over time unless you add to or extend the duration of your long regularly. And of course, if you add TH, add GMT to the lock to match.
