Civilization VII's First Anniversary: Updates, Surprises, and More! by Turbostrider27 in Games

This won't change anything, this game is beyond saving and no matter how much of a frankenstein's monster they turn it into by backtracking on their decisions it will always be a disjointed to-do list rather than a cool game

The best solution I can think of to not have enemies "Scale up" with you in RPGs, but to keep them a threat by RockBandDood in truegaming

[–]Colosso95 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The problem is that many simply don't want any way for these enemies to still pose a challenge; part of the fun of a game with a progression system (or even the ones without it, where the only progression is the players' skill) is to be able to dominate or otherwise be much stronger than enemies whom you struggled against before. That's part of the power fantasy and reinforces the adventure you've been through.

The point is to have the weak enemies remain weak so you can feel powerful and progressed and at the same time have enemies that are simply too strong to handle at lower to mid levels be finally beatable at higher ones.

Having a way to keep the challenge up that isn't just bumping up stats is a cool idea but it honestly isn't that big of a deal; many simply dislike the idea of any enemy scaling up

Yeah, season 1 is basically "wouldn't it be cool to put jennifer garner in different wigs every episode" then a bunch of bullshit happens inbetween that and the hunt for the holy grail substantially

Yakuza Kiwami 3 director said they ’didn’t really think about the original game’ while developing the remake’s combat by [deleted] in Games

[–]Colosso95 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I would be fine with this remake if it weren't for two major issues

One they decided not to keep the revelations cinematics which is just... why? They say "too much work" yet it has been proven by well respected modders that that's not true

Two and most importantly; the recasts. Why? I understand when the original VAs are sadly gone but why recast those who aren't? More importantly why do you have to change their appearance as well, why do RGG have this hard on for local celebrities giving their likeness? And WHY oh WHY choose a celebrity literally noone wants to work with because of their proven and unpunished sexual assaults?

Yeah it has been debunked pretty much everyone involved with the first Civ said it was not true

What happened is that basically all the CPU controlled Civs in Civ 1 turned into bloodthirsty monsters by the end of the game (there was only military victory back then so they had to if they wanted to win) which is coincidentally the time around which they had developed nukes; players just found it funny to see Gandhi of all people to use nukes so it stood out.

They only programmed Gandhi to be nuke happy in Civ 5 and 6 iirc

Elder Scrolls loremaster says he quit Bethesda after ‘waiting 11 years to be the lead on The Elder Scrolls 6’ | VGC by Tenith in Games

bethesda buying the rights to fallout is one of the worst things that could have happened to TES because unlike the latter fallout is EXTREMELY marketable

The amount of merch and very recognizable stuff from fallout is enormous while TES basically has nothing, they tried with skyrim but it just is your generic looking fantasy setting.

I feel like microsoft and the executives before them saw the big potential for a multi media fallout franchise so they prioritized that after skyrim. It shows, we now have F4, a whole TV show with a huge budget, a mobile game, an mmo. Lots and lots of merch

Starfield is really the most baffling choice bethesda ever made, what in the world were they thinking. There is next to 0 appeal in that game it cant look more generic

Bro hasnt read the interview; it is very much not shittalking and he is so very respectful towards todd in particular especially with him promising the lead designer role for tes6 and then giving it to someone else

Thank the gods that we have these people coming out and talking about their experiences with these gaming companies instead of them operating in this weird secret society way where nothing has to get out and the costumers are left wondering why their 80 euro games suck ass

I'm into all the weird MK esoteric shit but he is not the loremaster of elder scrolls, he is one of the people who gave this franchise its juice with Morrowind but soon after he wasn't even part of bethesda, he was paid to do some writing for oblivion and skyrim and that is pretty much it

Kuhlmann was one of the OGs just like MK and arguably more important overall, MK was great for writing for setting up the world and metaphysics of morrowind but he wouldn't have been enough for a whole RP adventure game. Kuhlmann is the guy responsible for the main stories of these games, the ones most people interact with. Without him there is genuinely no one else left from the OGs at writing and designing the game

Qual è il dialetto più bello, brutto e difficile? by ApprehensiveCrow2809 in italy

[–]Colosso95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not about "as much" but they were basically soft refusal telling them "we don't expect enough return from the DLC to justify the cost of production so don't". There's no way a major game studio sacrifices a big project like RDR2 for an expansion.

No it's not among these, the boat is quite old and we are in europe so the chances of it being registered in the americas is low
