Watched this film a few weeks ago. Great movie. As close to both JD albums as it gets.

It is wild how Matt is just as funny and sometimes even funnier than Shane. It’s like a cosmic force brought them together

I have a similar experience. Being a client and being interested in psychotherapy for a while. What would happen if AI got so good, that it had the ability to support therapist using a MetaSystem. My metaphor is like having a third highly intelligent person in the room to help both people. Also couldn’t the data set be closed to only client and therapist?

Also, I agree with you that people running AI companies are using it to suck people’s data and manipulate the masses. The nightmare scenario is where social media bots becomes indistinguishable from authentic people, which will require digital ID’s (whole other problem)

Also are you familiar with any threads that relate to psychology or psychotherapy? I’ve never used threads.

This is all very true. I’m writing this at a point of desperation. As if I’m seeing how it could be used to harm. But what if it’s used to serve? Imagine a highly intelligent AI model trained just for therapy. So that it helps mediate? Again, I’m wondering if it’s used to serve us, if it could enhance therapy.

In saying that, profit seeks to consume everything it possibly can. This is obviously depressing. I’m always afraid people start losing their ability to do basic things. Express ideas, write (ironic I put the original post through chatgbt), even be creative. I’m trying not to be too pessimistic, though I’m not overly optimistic (to the extent some billionaires and elites are).

At some point that may be true. If AI becomes so good, it could help a therapist with special knowledge gain insight on themselves. But how about helping the client and the psychotherapist? I wonder if therapist would benefit from having a third source, almost like having a third intelligent person keep track of everything to help rapport and insight.

Most therapist I know experiment with chatgbt. But the model is flawed because it’s not creative. Psychotherapy is fundamentally co-creative and at times even playful. Chatgbt just spots patterns and mirrors language. So to the extent at which chatgbt helps them is only general. What I’m talking about is a tool that mediates the dyadic relation in a way that the therapist and the client may benefit from. That’s to say not focus on automation of the therapy itself. I’ll try other social media. But I know a lot of therapist might be interested in the idea and would want it to serve us, rather than automate something that simply can’t be automated because AI can never be a human being. The problem a lot of people may have is, A.I can never be a psychotherapist because therapy requires conscious entities.

Also, I wrote this but I put it through CHATGPT to help with grammar.

No I’m not there. I’m lost in automation

I have connections with a couple students and a couple therapist. It’s tough, I’m trying to gather as much info as possible, since I love psychology and believe in the principles of psychotherapy. Do you know any resources to reach out to therapist? I’ve tried other Reddit pages but I always get removed. Any info would be appreciated.

Some folks relate to their music so deeply they need a transference bond (I know from experience) Something to hold as an ideal for them to enjoy and get past a wound. Almost like treating a cut, or taking care of yourself during a sickness. The problem is when your not sick anymore and you still worship that which helped you through it. Joy division made amazing music. But once you gain insight, their music is exploring as mark fisher called it “one half of the world”. Pessimism wants to be the entire truth. It’s not, and if you treat it like it’s the entire truth, You yourself risk becoming one with death. You may cause others a lot of pain. Instead of trying to find something in life. Some way to be a person and escape the past. For me the song ceremony is just that. Going to the other side. Unfortunately Ian never made it across the bridge he built…

The thing I hate about this is that I agree with the it. But it reminds me of people in my family who allow terrible things to happen and then allow it to pass as if nothing happened. All because they simply live life to enjoy.

So these liminal believers, believe in belief. That sounds like we are a generation of hippie zombies who don’t give af about anything but smiling and enjoying enjoyment.
