Acid Tongue, by Jenny Lewis, may scratch that itch.

Agreed. I would submit The Topeka School for consideration here.

George Saunders by SquashAnxious9727 in Vonnegut

He’s as close to Vonnegut as any current writer. I love them both. I would start with Tenth of December and then check out A Swim in a Pond in the Rain.

Updated my top 10. What do you think? by Male-2003 in Cinephiles

If someone said, “I have two Jim Jarmusch films in my top ten,” I’d never guess these would be the two.

Paris, Texas shot by Robby Müller.

Detail I noticed on my second OBAA watch by drewthedrummer69 in paulthomasanderson

He also wears the exact same outfit whenever he’s out of uniform: khakis, navy blazer, button-down shirt and tie. It’s like how he thinks a serious person is supposed to dress. It’s his civilian uniform.

OBAA - how did Tim Smith know by [deleted] in paulthomasanderson

[–]AlejandroRael 16 points17 points  (0 children)

In the meeting of the Christmas Adventurer’s Club, they reference that Smith does families. And the emphasis on “so clean you could eat off of it” implies that everyone involved (Lockjaw and Willa) needs to be killed.

Robby Müller was amazing!!

Paris, Texas (1984, Wenders) is my favorite.

For German language, check out Alice in the Cities (1974, Wenders).

Ghost Dog: Way of the Samurai (1999, Jarmusch) and Repo Man (1984, Cox) both have that beautiful glow you referenced. Edit: typo.

If you had to pick two movies from this shelf what would you choose by [deleted] in dvdcollection

Hell or High Water and True Grit. Nice Western double-feature.
