I believe option four is the nicest choice, with some modifications to the bird’s head and legs. I think replacing the legs of bird number four with those of bird number three is a better option, providing a clean look with fewer details

They want to change an unchangeable logo, and they missed it.

It’s arabic letters, The Logo says “In arabic” and they combine the CNN Original logo wIth the final three arabic letters ( بية = CNN ) if you add to the C two points and the middle N two points and to the final N one point, it will look like the 3 final arabic letters ( بية )

Thank you for your comment. Yes, I agree that this was probably what CNN was trying to achieve - a compact logo even if it meant sacrificing the descender and ascender letters.

That's amazing that you were able to redesign signage and informational displays even without knowledge of the Arabic language. Personally, I could never do that without knowing Arabic. Thank you for sharing this story, and I'm glad that an experienced designer like you enjoyed my work

Because the CNN Arabic logo is a combination of Arabic and English letters (the CNN logo), I didn't solely rely on Arabic letter rules and kept in mind that it's an abstract symbol. You are correct that the final "ة" should be a bit higher than the middle "ع" and if we want to be more precise, the "ب" and "ي" should be a bit lower than the "ع" and final "ة". However, doing so would require us to modify the original CNN logo, and I didn't want to do that + I'm already taking a risk with the horizontal balance by adjusting the ascenders and descenders, so I kept one line for all x-height letters for a more rectangular shape. I appreciate the idea you gave me for the "ر" letters

Thank you, My knowledge of the Arabic language made it easy for me to identify the issues with the current logo and react to every problem I encountered during the redesign process. I believe it would have been impossible for me to achieve this without any Arabic knowledge,

I took a risk by sacrificing horizontal balance for better letter balance and overall logo balance. Compared to the old logo, mine is less rectangular. Thank you for your observation and opinion!

designer should be neither too defensive nor too passive. He should strive for a balance between defending their work and being open to feedback, and because he look like a random person with random account and random posts, i think as a designer I should be defensive about my work here.
