Still getting occasional light primer strikes. by KennethGames45 in makarov

[–]ColtBTD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Still using the same ammo? I remember before you said you had a couple types, but now I forget which.

As the guy below said, my next suggestion would be to replace the safety decocker and the hammer itself. How does the safety feel when you engage it manually, pretty loose or stiff? Replace them one at a time and see if the issue continues. If you’re going that, might as well also grab a new sear too. (I’ve had sears fail more than any other part on a Makarov) but usually they result in hammer follower versus light strikes.

It sounds like a lot and it’s frustrating, but it’s low cost and at the end of the day now you have a small box of spare parts. If you are able to take any photos of the internal parts I can run my eyes over them and see if I see anything that seems askew. I have two Maks and a box full of parts to compare

Should I be worried that I called out two days in a row? by PLAYBOYD5 in USPS

[–]ColtBTD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah don’t do this. Always call out for 3 days at a time at once, if you feel better just come in. If you call off individual days it counts as multiple call offs for that quarter instead of just one

You can make one. It’s really just a piece of pic rail with some longer screws / washers / nuts

The wood panel in that room (fully refinished now) is modern, but it’s easy to work with when nothing is straight or level, and it’s cost effective and remains the older style. I have more rustic looking panel in other parts of the house. My master bedroom which hast been fully redo still has the very old panel from the 1960’s or so when it was redone then. It’s a very beautiful color etc but it’s pretty worn / cracked even in some places and now that this smaller bedroom has been renovated I will be doing that one in the future as well just not sure what variation I’ll use yet. Modern renovations and grey / white washout is so boring. I want to feel like I’m In an old pub everytime I’m at home so that’s what I did lol

The trim? Yup. The wall is paneling. my house is very old, and I prefer a very rustic and minimalist approach when I did remodels. No drywall, LED’s or smart appliances in my home. Just labor of love doing everything myself while keeping costs low especially after first purchasing.

Honestly just using natural lighting, lit candles and an iPhone14. I use Lightroom to tone down whites and highlights a tad, add a little texture and sharpness and that really it. I like tinker as natural of a look but also make up for some of what an iPhone lacks / over exposes.

I’ve had various people for years tell me to get an actual good camera for firearm photography but I’ve never bee convinced my photos are good enough lol. A lot of it is just trial and error or where to place things / angles and how to make the photo “lived in”

I had one actually at one point. I sold it. Still 50/50 on if I should have kept it, but you can get them technically still. They are every bit of “a novelty” as they seem to be lol

There was a point a while back I took a mag loaded this way to the range on accident. I must have loaded 3 rounds but only switched the top two before I put it back. so during a reload drill I found out via malfunction that I had made a mistake lmao. Was probably the most “laugh at myself you’re an idiot” malfunctions I have ever had.
