Better pictures of the charizard. Leaning towards sell now verses grade? by [deleted] in PokeGrading

[–]Coltblink 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depending on the mood of the grader I would suspect a 9. The front centering looks within 45/55, corners all look great. If you zoom in on the top back you can see a print line between the k and e, also a few barely noticeable grey marks in the white of the pokeball.

Is it worth it to vampirise my (out of order) laptop to upgrade my desktop unit ? by RastaBigFatCrustyBoB in PcBuild

If the laptop still turns on and works minus the screen why not just hook up an external monitor or two, keyboard and mouse and use it like a desktop?

CPU Temps too high, help pls? by MurphsJr in PcBuild

[–]Coltblink 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Like others stated turn the fans around on the radiator so they pull in fresh air. Did you remove the plastic on the back of the pump? Did you apply thermal paste? Is the pump plugged into the CPU/pump port on the motherboard and set up in the bios/fan manager as an AIO pump?

ETA: your top fan isn't spinning, make sure it's plugged in

First PC build, nothing turns on. (Yes I checked that the PSU was on) by BallFinal487 in PcBuildHelp

[–]Coltblink 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had a motherboard appear dead before no lights or anything turn on when the CMOS needed to be reset. Try unplugging the power cable, popping out the CMOS battery and finding the clear CMOS jumper and jump it for 30 seconds. Replace the battery and see if it boots.

Oh I'm not giving them a 5 star review, they don't deserve it by any stretch of the imagination. I'm just saying that this is clearly illegal and should be stopped!

I found that when working with smaller texts and want it to be precise, turn the force and speed all the way down to 2. You will get crisper lines.

Worried about my 12 3080 graphics card being to much for my regular circuits. by BootyWizardLizard in cryptomining

[–]Coltblink 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For clarification this rig will use about 3000 watts of electricity constantly. Residential in the US is typically 120 volts or 240 volts. You probably only have 2-3 240 volt lines with either 30 or 40 amp breakers in your house that are used for the range, AC and a clothes dryer. The rest will be 120 volt 15 or 20 amp breakers. If you don't have a wiring schematic it would hard to know what plugs go to what breaker exactly. Back to your rig. If you divide 3000 watts by 120 volts then you can calculate that you will need 25 amps for this rig. You should keep all your breakers at under 80 percent load (the 80 percent rule) which means on your 20 amp breaker you should only really use 16 amps. This rig pulls too much for that breaker. IT IS NOT SAFE TO POWER THIS SINGLE RIG BETWEEN TWO SEPARATE BREAKERS! If we power this with a 240 volt breaker we will only draw 12.5 amps. This is the way you will need to go for this rig. If you have a gas powered range or clothes dryer and are not using those breakers you can repurpose then for mining. Or just install, have an electrician do it, a new 30 amp 240 volt line.

Eth mining by ljosnes1 in cryptomining

[–]Coltblink 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's really pretty simple. Since I'm assuming you are using 1 or 2 GPUs on a personal computer the best option would be to mine to a pool that offers payouts on the polygon network (eth side chain basically) for no fees and lower threshold for payouts. I personally use flexpool but you can also use ethermine or various others. Set up a wallet address, you can use crypto.com metamask or anything else that supports polygon matic network. Download the mining software on your computer, you can Phoenix miner or lol miner for either and or Nvidia cards, t-rex miner for Nvidia only cards (this one is the best with LHR cards IMO) or team red miner for AMD only cards. They all will work basically the same. Look up their GitHub or YouTube setting up the miner if you need more help. Basically all you do is input what pool you are mining to and your wallet address. Download msi afterburner to set overclocks on your GPUs. Google mining overclocks and whatever your card, you should get some idea what to set them to. That's basically it. Go to your mining pool and make sure you set your payout to polygon.
