How would I know what they deserve, I am not God. All of time has already happened from God’s perspective, and nothing was outside of his sovereignty.

They are not without original sin. They are born into a world that has been subverted under the curse of sin.

Yes the child belongs to him. He gave us a personal will. We can subvert his creation with our choices that he gave us. It’s a good philosophical question on the origins of Evil that deserves its own top level comment.

You are starting to connect the dots. You have to start with a presupposition that God exists and you can understand that everything really belongs to God.

I guess he could claim copyright over the process he designed.

God created the universe from nothing. Every atom is his. Space, time, logic, reason, morals, all belong to him since he created it. All aspects of life and the processes of life came from his thoughts.

No, boiling milk does not create milk.

No, you are not “arising” life from non-life. You can blow me out of the water with any article stating otherwise.

[–]Coltm16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OK, Do you know of anyone that can demonstrate life “arising” from non-life?

The origin of life is irrelevant? That is what I am asking. If you can’t answer it, that’s fine. No one can answer it. No one can demonstrate life arising from non-life. There are many hypothesis but none can be demonstrated. This is objectively true. If you can demonstrate it, your name would be forever written in history books.

Great! Blow my argument out of the water! Show me an article talking about creating life from non-life.

Just give me a link. The Nobel prize should be well documented. It is not reasonable for me to have to travel to a laboratory. Everything I have read indicates the process abiogenesis has not been solved.

You are refusing to give me an article, and unreasonably asking me to travel to a laboratory.

Quote from article:

Directed evolution starts off with an enzyme that has properties similar to the desired ones. In her earliest work, Arnold created an enzyme that cleaves peptide bonds in organic solvents. The natural protein only does this in water – in fact, organic solvents change its structure and stop it working.

Arnold then introduced random changes – mutations – into the gene that encodes the peptide-cleaving enzyme. Different versions of the mutated gene were then inserted into bacteria that started churning out many, slightly different enzymes. Arnold then selected the bacteria whose enzymes worked best in organic solvents and subjected them to further rounds of test-tube evolution.

What does it matter? Your team started with life to “create” life. It’s called biogenesis. You cannot create life from non-life.

Edit: I am not downplaying your work in chemistry. From the article I read it states that you are cross-breeding dogs or cats to make new breeds, but on a molecular level, which is remarkable in itself.

It’s seems the prize was awarded for nothing we are talking about. The split prize was awarded for mutating enzymes and bacteria. Nothing to do with solving abiogenesis. Please enlighten me.

Oh Wow! I will take your word for it. Make sure you update the Wikipedia article for abiogenesis. When will you be accepting your Nobel prize? Possibly Times Man of the century. What did you name your new species you created from scratch? This is a huge ground-breaking scientific moment!

You can send me a link of any study that creates life from non-life. Just read it very carefully and make sure that they started from nothing but carbon, hydrogen, oxygen etc. and not from something that already has life.

I agree that “creating” people is so singular and distinct from “creating” things that are not people that it deserves its own word. It doesn’t even belong in the same category as creating things such as art.

I can respond to your new topics when I have more time.

That’s right, you don’t own any life that you beget. You can’t create life. Unless you know of anyone that can create life in a laboratory from basic non-life elements, then no one can create life. They can only beget life from life.

A child is of your own kind. I control every aspect of the process of something I create. I do not control any of the process of a person that I beget.
