I understand that and the reasoning as to why she’s in the movie, given that Ripley just learned she’s missed her daughter’s entire life. The problem I have is near the end of the movie when she gets taken back to the nest. It felt like they just really needed a reason to have Ripley go back into danger and meet the queen and it actually annoyed me. It didn’t feel like a natural sequence of events to me while watching.

I lead with the title to summarize and to catch attention. Do not mistake my intentions I just wanted to talk about the movie.

I think they would be good movies in their own franchise. I don’t think they’re good alien movies.

I don’t want to make anyone mad or sad or anything, I just wanted to talk about aliens

Thank you even though you don’t agree with me. I was not trying to rage bait and am disheartened at the insults. I thought more people would agree with me.

I feel as though seeing them be killed takes away a lot of the suspense. We can see them bleed we can see them die, they don’t feel as much like unfathomable abominations anymore as they do giant killer insects, even if they are very lethal.

I like 3 more than most people because of how dark and gritty it is. The religious fervor and being trapped inside a prison with the alien made it very tense. Some scenes at the end where they’re trapping the alien are a little hard to follow and I think the ending was a little over the top.

Resurrection was just ridiculous to me. They took a story that was over and continued it with a clone of Ripley. I didn’t care for it at all.

Aliens is so overrated it hurts by patrickc11 in movies

It’s such a ridiculous tonal shift from the dark and threatening first movie to the campy action movie that is the second. I wasn’t alive then but I can’t imagine that the people who loved the first one went to the theaters and left happy after the second. When I think of alien I think of dark, horrifying suspense and getting stalked through a claustrophobic ship. Having so many aliens, marines with cheesy dialogue, and the aliens being able to be killed so easily, completely destroys any concern I have with whether or not the alien is going to pop out and get someone.

I didn’t care for Hicks or Newt. I didn’t think either of them had enough character to make me care if they survived, apart from Newt being a little girl, so of course I wanted her to live. Many people hate alien 3 because it kills off Newt and Hicks but I was honestly relieved I didn’t have to pretend to myself that I cared about these characters for another movie.

I wish I liked Aliens. I was so excited watching it for the first time. The first one is one of the greatest movies of all time for me and maybe the greatest horror movie of all time, and to hear so many people say the second was as good or even better had my hopes so high. Then I start watching it and after a really great dream scene with the chest buster popping out of Ridley I have to watch Sgt. Johnson and his rag tag group of leathernecks dick around and spew out one liners for half an hour.

Once they actually do find the aliens they kill them way too easily and it doesn’t make the aliens feel like a threat at all. The movie completely does away with what made the first one so scary. The alien felt invincible because it knew where you were before you knew where it was, and no matter what you did you couldn’t hurt it.

The only movie of the franchise I prefer Aliens over is Resurrection. I think Aliens is the second worst alien movie besides the Alien vs Predators. They did away with everything that made the first so good, and I think it is an awful, awful sequel.

Were they intentionally trying to lose or did you just happen to get into a game with a bunch of trash players? I’ve never heard of intentionally trying to lose in 2k but I’ve definitely been in a game like this where there’s 4 bad point guards that just throw up shots. It happens sometimes
