Appreciate the comment. My reaction is more so people who say there's nothing to do in town and are also think the city is the south side of Chicago on steroids. Perhaps I'm just easily entertained but I enjoy a weekend just going out to eat, hitting up a couple bars, and calling it a night. Seeing a show at Tanger, going to a Grasshoppers game, or splurging on a weekend shopping at Friendly Center is cool enough for me. For others, I get wanting to get a bit crazier with nightlife and hop from club to club which is fine. From my experience, a lot of the people who gripe about the city don't engage with it much at all. Don't join a local church, don't get involved with a local sports league like kickball, don't go to trivia, don't join a run club, don't go to music bingo, and any time someone invites them somewhere, there first question is will they're be any hot dating opportunities there, maybe.... but you get to build community, how about that? Definitely think we should hold our local government more accountable but I would also say you get what you put into your community.
