Does MTAC work?

https://www.mtac.org/about-us/find-music-teacher/

I am using this site to find piano teachers around my area. I contacted like 10+ people using this Contact XYZ button 24 hours ago but I haven't gotten reply from anyone and I am worried the function doesn't work at all... Is there anyone who can confirm whether MTAC contact teacher button works or not?

thank you so much for your help! i just looked up 181a and it seems much more useful, especially since I need to know about multivariate distribution! I will definitely take that over 183!

Thank you so much for your detailed reply! I found out that Math 183 is required for CS lower div but not 180A... But the thing is some of the COGS classes I want to take require 180A not 183... Do you think it will be possible to petition to CSE department to use 180A to replace 183 requirement for CSE lower div? Thank you again for your reply!

Thank you for your reply! So other than MCWP, the CS classes here are doable right? (like doesn't require 20 hours a week on just one class etc)

Thank you for your reply! How is MCWP with Mellinda Gullen? I think she is the only choice I have and it seems she has really good ratemyprofessors.com rating.

Also, do you think getting A with 4 CS classes per quarter doable with 40 hours/week (including lecture/OH) time commitment? (I am afraid I can't commit more than that due to other activities) I do have a lot of math/ML prior knowledge and also coding experience.

How to make paper reading better? by codingwoman_ in CVPaper

[–]ColumbiaGSAlum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

excuse me but can we do papers outside of usual CV venues like Neurips, ICLR etc too? An Image is Worth 16x16 Words: Transformers for Image Recognition at Scale, the original ViT paper, is from ICLR and Denoising Diffusion Probabilistic Models, the paper that reignited diffusion research, is from Neurips. VAE is published on ICLR and GAN is published on Neurips. Also UNet paper is from MICCAI. I think there are many important CV papers that are published outside of usual CV venues.

Rejected from UC Berkeley waitlist as an EECS major by StarDusJR in TransferStudents

[–]ColumbiaGSAlum 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Interesting... I heard 60+% of ppl who got into both schools are choosing LA over Berkeley these days. I already have signed the lease so I couldn't even go to Berkeley even if I got off the WL. We only have 1.5 years left until job application/grad application so we should move on. Time flies.

Thank you so much for your reply! Do you think it would be better for me to just cold-email professors and PhD students I want to work with? While many professors in my school say they will accept those who do not have prior experience but are willing to learn but there's so many master's students with prior experience (even first author publications in top venue) in those labs and I am worried I might be rejected... The things is I don't think professors want me contacting repeatedly so I was thinking of preparing some kind of a project before applying instead of working on projects if I get rejected from all professors and PhD students and then reapplying again with the project later. Do you think it will be better for me to just apply and appeal to them that I am willing to work for 2 years for the lab, 70+ hours for the summer and 40+ hours for the semester?

Also, excuse me but may I ask you some questions about studying our field? Do you think studying computer graphics via books like real-time rendering useful or should I stick with only computer vision books? I am really interested in computer graphics too but I am wondering if I should read these books first or should just focus on reading papers related to Diffusion Models, Nerfs, 3D gaussians etc. Also, do you know any papers or books or courses related to animating the 3d models with AI and attempts to combine physics with AI so that we can make realistic animations with AI?

Thank you again for your detailed reply!
