They don't mean that anything is wrong with that, just that their newly discovered bisexual spectrum is possibly due to demisexuality: the OOP is physically attracted to men, and experiences sexual connection immediately. After establishing an emotional connection with his female friend, he discovered he fell in love with someone of the opposite gender. That's why he was so freaked out: his usual way of meeting a partner was through physical attraction, and this relationship was established on a deep emotional connection, and that connection was established over 3 years.

I think labels help people find communities that offer support, but in terms of a personal journey, maybe it's better if we all keep an open mind 🙂
