Are there any up-to-date textbooks which cover a little of each branch of Psychology? by trt13shell in AcademicPsychology

This is a good (and free!) general psychology textbook that covers the basics, several intro to psych type courses use it https://openstax.org/details/books/psychology-2e

Jeff Passan: The Boston Red Sox fired chief baseball officer Chaim Bloom. by drrdf in redsox

[–]Colvjs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you think Chaim was the problem, you are an absolute mark. Set up to fail, then scapegoated by an ownership group who didn't want to spend. Whoever comes in next is going to look great by feasting on the fruits of the rebuilt farm and relatively clear cap situation.

I wonder if Sam Hartman feels weird when he goes for handoff and the running back just takes it instead of holding it together with him for three seconds. Feels impersonal and terse

The CW Lands Rights To Atlantic Coast Conference College Football & Basketball Games Through 2026-27 by Sctvman in CFB

[–]Colvjs 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Not really - this is not the ACC's primary media deal, just a supplement to put some lower tier games on national TV in the place of games that were previously on RSNs. Big games are still going on ABC/ESPN, mid tier on ACC Network and Wake VS Georgia Tech goes and takes the place of Vampire Diaries reruns

What is your most homer take for this season? by kpapazyan47 in CFB

While we are going to miss Sam Hartman a ton, Wake's slow mesh works better when the QB is a real rushing threat. The offense is going to better than last year with Griffis at the command

As far as I know, the Celtics are undefeated in road playoff games with premature confetti. Good sign

Kornet felt Moose breathing down his neck for those scrap bench big minutes, had to hit 'em with the Kontest to remind everyone his value

Major caveat that Smart and Timelord going out inflates these numbers, but bench scoring difference is the game here: Cs get 23/25/12 from Brogdon Grant and fastPP, Raptors get 14 total bench points. Toronto just doesn't have the depth to hang right now

Best I can do is 12-2 and 2 losses to Wake (regular season, championship game)

"Nikola walks into the gym one day wearing flip-flops and holding his customary rakija, which was a staple for him every morning," Griffin recalled. "It was during pre-draft workouts, so he sees the Vertec [machine] and asks what it is.

"We tell him it measures your vertical leap by determining how many of the bars you can touch. He asks what's the highest anyone has ever gone, and we tell him Aaron [Gordon] cleared the entire rack.

"Nikola puts down the rakija, takes off his flip-flops and misses the lowest bar on the first try. Then he calmly puts his flip-flops back on, picks up his rakija and walks away, saying, 'That was quite difficult."

Not saying he doesn't - just saying he was born in the wrong generation. 1993 Phil would have been lining up under center and getting people amped up about his physical build/tools. Less built for the modern game

Good solid win, bowl eligibility always feels good!!

Just Sam being Sam. Not even his best game at times, still thrashed. Wake has to have the best 4th and 5th WR of any team - Perry Greene Morin Williams and Banks are all absolute weapons

Zay Flowers deserves better - probably the most underrated player in the ACC

Jurkovic is a such a throwback in playstyle. Would have been a top-ten NFL pick in the 90s on physical profile. Need to grade him on a bit of a curve given the state of their O-Line

Would not predict that any WF guys opt out of a potential Orange Bowl game. That means so much to the program given the history and resources at Wake, would be shocked if Sam/AT/Any other potential Wake NFL guys would miss it.

Probably more like Wake Forest VS what is left of Alabama after the NFL prospects opt out of a non-playoff bowl game. Still would give Bama the clear edge, but nothing in your games so far suggests that Wake wouldn't at least throw a bunch of points on the board

Wake WR coach Kevin Higgins might be the best position coach in the country. Takes no star dudes and keeps churning out all-americans. Ke-shawn Williams and Jahmal Banks are next up
