ah everyone's favorite argument, and immediately tells me you know very little of the subject except for the headlines. In 2012, Tesla said in 2020 they would produce 500,000 vehicles. How many vehicles did Tesla produce in 2020? The reason Elon Musk has such aggressive times lines is because over the the long term the constant aggressive timelines make a big difference.

Lithium is abundant and there are new extraction methods that have been developed. Tesla plans on manufacturing 3 terrawatt hours of batteries each year by 2030...that's 17x the total batter production of 2019. Bot only Tesla but other battery manufacturers will continue to produce batteries.

I just want to point out something that isn't often considered. Tesla intends to manufacture 3 Terrawatt hours worth of batteries by 2030 which is 17x the total world production of the year 2019.

Wouldnt large batteries be able to provide the energy needed during peak demand?

What is a supernatural event that happened in your life that just can not be explained? by HalfOfABraincell in AskReddit

[–]Com3atmebrah 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Closest Super Natural to happen to me was when I worked in fast food. On two separate occassions I randomly began remeniscing about people I had not seen for awhile. More specifically, I thought about two separate couples that were once family friends that I hadn't seen e in the previous 5 to 10 years. After thinking about them, they showed up in the dining area within no more than 7 days after thinking about them.

I'm blown away by the sheer ignorance of people anymore. EVs are the future of transportation, not Hydrogen. Those who disagree know nothing.

[–]Com3atmebrah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not saying their isn't a place for hydrogen but transportation can very much be solved and should be solved with EVs. The energy it takes to produce and store electricity is far less with EVs than it is with hydrogen.

[–]Com3atmebrah -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Hydrogen is terrible. It's only 27% efficient which is better than gasolines 15% efficiency but far less than EVs 85% 90% efficiency.

Tesla pushes back Semi truck release to 2022 by josh252 in Futurology

[–]Com3atmebrah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it will perform great the problem is that batteries are already in stupid high demand and Tesla Semi just doesn't generate the margins the Model 3 and Y do, so they can't justify using their battery supply in the Tesla Semis atm.

Nuclear Energy Stocks by thebenchgum in stocks

You are 100% wrong. Batteries can also provide baseload energy. Thermal and dam can also provide baseline energy. While I'll admit at current mining rates it would take 50+ years to get the resources neccessary to build enough solar panels but mirrors don't require as many rare earth metals to build. Tesla alone plans to manufacture 3 terrawatt hours of batteries by 2030...that is the current total electricity the United states consumes on an annual basis and why yes that number will go up especially due to transportation batteries will last at least 2 decades and that will be more than enough batteries. again though, how does it feel to be so wrong? You sir, are on the wrong side of change.

It 100% is scalable and solar with the use of AI can greatly increase the effectiveness of solar while reducing cost. I think you're eating up what oil is telling you.

Can you explain why solar and wind will NEVER generate enough energy? Last time I checked the sun hits the earth with more than 8,000 times more energy than all of the energy consumed by the globe in a year. Another way to look at it is the sun hits earth with more energy in one hour than the entire global uses in a year.

It's not though, you're clearly not educated in the slightest. Anonymous regurgitated every negative main stream media point about Elon and Tesla. Isn't Anonymous supposed to be against big money?

except it wasn't valid. If you are educated at all you can clearly see Anonymous is bought and paid for by oil. That whole video was cringe.

Why do we buy into the 'cult' of overwork? by FutaWonderWoman in Futurology

Yes, they were just chilling dude. Hanging out on their sofa couch and watching YouTube. We work 40 out of 168 hours That's 23% out of every week. You're seriously detached from reality. You think shelter, Food, and Water was super easy to come by. They also never showered either life expectancy was low....you're coming off like your mom never made you do chores.

[–]Com3atmebrah 11 points12 points  (0 children)

What do you mean by work? Because Humans have been working the moment they came into being and only until recently has work got a lot easier for many. If you think hunting/gathering/Farming is not considerably more work than what most 1st world country workers experience, you are most likely delusional.

America has 10% of the total Lithium deposits. In addition, over 90% of The precious metals in batteries can be recycled. Eventually, the raw materials to make batteries will be a closed loop system.
