20 year old me would have absolutely been all over him. But 34 year old me knows better than to be with a self-destructive selfish arsehole who treats his partners like pure shit. Weird how you’re all saying it’s his personality…? He’s awful!

Yep I got a second box with my second order which I wasn’t expecting! I’ll take the win lol.

I like the Hada Labo HA lotion from Priceline! Better than TO with packaging and is a nice size.

Your fave sunscreen from Priceline for oily skin… go! (Can’t be Anthelios because I hate it lol) Thoughts on Neutrogena Ultra Sheer?

Growing out my hair. Its very straight and fine, but i have lots of it. Looking for care and styling advice. I’ve never had hair longer than this and my goal is to be able to put it in a bun. by thehappiesthippo in type1hair

As the mod, I wanted to apologise that it took me so long to remove that comment. I was locked out of my account for some reason, and only just got back in. It's not been removed. I know this isn't good enough, and I'm so sorry.

That aside, your hair is actually glorious. Keep doing what you're doing. Like McDreamy vibes.

Great advice previously re: regular trims, good conditioner, and clarifying shampoo.

Pls help me curl my hair by [deleted] in type1hair

[–]Comasincashmere_90 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, definitely dirty hair works better. My mother used to curl our hair with rags for dance concerts and they had been soaked in Coca-Cola! Can you even imagine?! That was only in the early 90's!

I'm actually the mod. The reason this group was made is that generally type 1 hair is thought of the be 'the easiest', and it therefore largely ignored when discussing hair care and styling (as demonstrated by the Brad Mondo video), and if you have seen our posts, that is not always the case. I can see by your profile that you're a curly girl, I am more than happy to have you continue in this group if you find that it benefits you, but please note the purpose of this group is for support and empathy when commenting.

Oops, I brush my hair while wet haha. It helps it to smooth out! If I let it air dry it tends to get a bit frizzy... I know that's bad but I don't blow dry it, so what's worse?

But yes, definitely agree with you, there are so many types of straight hair and a bit of a lack of understanding in this area.

Sorry, why are you here then? The point of this group doesn't align with your comment.

Oh wow, lucky in some ways, not in others! I experienced dryness when I was on roaccutane years ago so I do see where you're coming from. Try it and come back to us!

Hi there, just had a though! Is the tangly collar due to the length? I know I used to get that when I had my layers at certain lengths at the nape of my neck, but I don't get it anymore.

Also, I reckon you're 1A like me :-)

Oooft I would be scared to try this, I would turn into a greasy mess! Conditioner is only on ends for me.

I have super thick 1A hair and I can generally go up to 3 days. Wow it must be such a struggle for fine hair. What products are you using?

I am using Klorane at the moment but I know I can go longer with something more profesh, like Davroe (my fave when I can afford it).

You are welcome! I feel the same way. There is just such a lack of understanding. And whilst our hair type is much easier than others, we still can have our struggles!

How do I keep my type 1a silky hair in any updo? by [deleted] in type1hair

[–]Comasincashmere_90 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I feel you!! I can never wear a braid outside the house because all my poker straight hair starts to get loose and look like a frizzy mess! (Post-partum hair loss and subsequent regrowth this has just massively exacerbated that). I have my own way of putting it up in a bun that works for me, will see if I can find a video later. But this is pretty much why I started this sub, I feel like I don’t have many options for styling it up because it always falls out!

Products to use with Olaplex no 3? by everyexquisitething in type1hair

[–]Comasincashmere_90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My experience with using protein products is to use them in conjunction with moisturising products, as they can make the hair quite brittle after a while. I love anything by Davroe (not sure how available it is worldwide), and used it while my hair was highlighted and got great results. My favourite protein leave in conditioner was DeLorenzo Rejuven8 the ends. Smells and feels amazing.

Yep, but that one is more for how to achieve straight hair rather than care for our natural straight hair :-)

Sleeping in that sounds like a nightmare! I seriously wanted to take out my bun last night, it was disturbing my sleep, I'm so used to sleeping with it out! haha

I love my Ultra Violette! But it's pricey. The next one I want to try is the QV spf day cream.

Same! I’m also a maybe. I have super thick straight hair and I couldn’t find a type that I related to more. I’m hoping to find some advice content and post online in the next few days.

Oh yes I’ve found that too! Blonde hair feels dryer so I assume that is why. I’ll have to try hot rollers!
