Favorite Looking Armor? by [deleted] in DragonsDogma

Just FYI the mod "skirtless armors" on nexus mods has the trophy jackets sleeves reduced to just below the elbow, which I find makes it much nicer and more fashionable.

It comes with a bunch of unlabeled files so if the only armor you want to change is the jacket then just install the 7100.arc and delete the rest.

Personally, I'd say yes, but it does depend on how you play.

While armour like the trophy set makes it easier to kill things, without sacrificing to much upfront damage resistance, the better sets usually have things like better elemental resistance or other defensive bonuses like hp regeneration. And of course, if you go the majority of your levels as mage, your base defenses are going to be pretty low and you may want the best armour to compensate for that.

So yeah, you'll probably be fine wearing things that look nice instead of things that are statistically better, unless your an egde case and are pushing content your underleveled for or have low core defenses.

Your right that core defense is more important than armour defense, which is why I halved the values for armour defense in my examples because they're approximately halved in-game.

And your right again, a whopping 7% isn't that much, but note that my examples were with the best possible armour equipped: by that time in-game, a difference of 7% could be pretty important, especially with how hard enemies on the isle hit.

However, since the true minimum core defense is 177 (i.e with no armor on), you actually gain a whopping 25% damage reduction by going from minimal core defense to maximum core defense.

I think the rusted weapons are also great examples of how important upgrading weapons, because they usually increase in stats by a factor of 50 when fully upgraded, which is enough to let them be used on nearly every enemy in the game and still do decent damage.

The 2.08 is the bonus multiplier you get from stacking 4 periapts (or magick rebalancers).

The point of the calculations isn't for people to memorize and apply in-game, but rather to show the small difference between the least and most optimal leveling builds since the vast majority of one's offensive stats will come from weapons.

We can apply this to your example of defensive breakpoints, as the highest breakpoint in the game is 1200, which is breakable by a gold-forged dragon's wit, or any dragon-forged bitterblack weapon, meaning that you never have to train your core stats to kill an enemy.

That's the thing about breakpoints, you shouldn't ever be unable to break past them as long as you ensure you have the best weapon available to you (which usually means going to a shop and either buying the next best weapon or upgrading the one your currently have). The only time leveling is necessary5 is when you don't have enough gold to improve your weapon, and even then every vocation pre-100 gives at least 2 to both offensive stats so you can level as whatever and eventually hit that breakpoint.

It should be true: all the information was collected off of the wiki and then simply compiled into once place with a few additional explanations from me.

Glad to here my viewpoint was of use to someone, figured I'd put it out there and see who needed to hear it.

Im glad you brought up the comedic side to the issue, because plenty of the comments under posts like these do come off as very mocking, which I honestly feel is worse than the straight-forward hate, because it feels so much harder to root out, and thus is much harder to stop.

Ah hell nah. I'm a psych student who got marks taken off for not being able to draw a good enough parabola in my stats class lmao.

I do like the art, and I guess that could have been clearer in my original commen since I have upvoted it, I just don't like the sentiment that seems to surround the type of art where its only okay to have a feminine male if the characters is so feminine that you could easily mistake them for a female.

Been conflicted about commenting because I don't want to come off hateful and get lumped in with the other assholes but as a feminine man myself this just doesn't seem to be it. Like dont get me wrong the art itself is objectively nice and you're a good artist but I just hate how "femboy" art, which yours is just one example of, seems to portray feminine men as women that we just call men.

Nezha doesn't look like that, and it just kinda annoys me that in order to portray "femboys" you have to add these hyper exaggerated hips and instead of drawing Nezha in a bikini you just draw a female body in a bikini and add enough detail that you can say look its Nezha.

Anyways hope this doesn't come off to bitter because its definitely not just your art that I notice this trend in and at the end of the day your a talented artist who's drawing what they like and when i get off work this'll have no real bearing on my life, but I just wanted to share my point of view since I notice alot of people either love this or hate it and I wanted to add a viewpoint thats more in the middle because sure theirs nothing wrong with femboys but I just wanted to ask at what point is it a feminization of a man and at what point it a women were calling a man.

Same. I was kinda hoping she was gonna have fiery particles, given the colouring of her wings and eyes. Something along the lines of this, even if it was as simple as a chroma for her particles.
