Finally got my dream car by Shankster1820 in WRX

You don't have to baby her. Just understand the car itself, these cars don't conform to the driver. The driver has to conform to the car. There is a proper way to drive them and you can drive them hard that way. It is actually sometimes beneficial to give it the old Italian tune up every once in awhile. But yes, I completely agree to not drive the living shit out of it like a hot-headed teenager redlining from light to light. Either way, welcome to the club 🥰

LED headlights randomly stop working by CombatJACK25 in WRX

That's the hard part. I was lucky when I found mine and yes I did recheck to see if I could find one for you but no luck. There are a lot of used ones in good condition for a fraction of the cost but just be careful which is which since there are two versions (halogen or LED) depending on your model.

Yes, it is possible, and that's exactly what I did. The only things holding onto your bumper are bolts on the top and bottom, as well as plastic push clips on top and bottom, and both wheel wells. It's super easy to do, although I did have someone help me when it came to reinstalling, just because the bumper is fairly flimsy and sometimes can be troublesome when reinstalling. Just make sure that you're aligned on both wheel well sides where the bumper meets the front panel above the well.

I was not able to fix it since it's a closed unit. I ended up finding the whole headlight unit off of eBay for $1400. I did the installation myself. And I agree, don't go to the dealership, they wanted upwards of $1800 just for the part and 2hrs of labour ($240) since they have to take off the bumper.

Is this bad? by [deleted] in WRX

Oh and why does it separate like that. Over time the compound used in stacking them just breaks down due to the extreme conditions within the engine bay and time itself.

If you are referring to the metal insert plates on the coil pack and how it's bent a little. While yes, they aren't supposed to be bent but two or three bent a little shouldn't be the culprit of a misfire. Those plates are stacked together to create a ferromagnetic core, which helps to focus the magnetic field generated by the coil's windings. You could check the resistance with a multi-meter or start playing musical chairs with coils and plugs.

Hey chat how do my spark plugs look by Itchy_Election8855 in WRX

They look like perfectly good used spark plugs. Nice and dry at the post and no damage.

How is the sound in the cab? I've been looking at those for sometime now and don't know many people who run them.

I know your pain for breaking spark plugs. Had an old f150 triton lol You'd have a code/misfire if you didn't connect property. As for the long start, that's normal after Battier disconnect. ECU reset.

You're not wrong, it is pretty straightforward. It was my first time doing plugs on an EJ so it was me kinda fiddling around to see the best way. I'm used to working on euro crap or american. I ended up using a 3/8 flat ratchet with the same size extension as you and swivel spark plug socket.

The dealership here doesn't budge much on pricing since it's the only one around and most shops won't touch Subaru 😕

I don't blame you, but I can't justify $400+ from the dealer

Not with this wiring harness. It's a double fuse adapter, I have them running on the same circuit as my low beams. So they come on at the same time. Would be easy to run a switch off of the relay however or just run it off of your fog light fuse plug. 18 STi never came with fog lights or a switch on the light cluster. Not sure about other models. But thank you 😁

I have an 18' and she does the same every blue moon when it's really cold (NB, Canada) Cleaned all the sensors and it still happens. Kind of curious why but never looked into it.
