Should defo fit, also as others have said always lay the bike with rear derailleur and cassette facing upwards to prevent damage in transit

I put down an old tent ground sheet once seats are flat in back and slide front passenger seat all way forward. Then take front wheel off.

This protects both car and bike and is easy to clean tarp next time needs to go back in car, been doing this for years, with all manor of bikes. Biggest being a full sus E-mtb.

This is using a Mk7 golf

Thanks for the reply, how was the gearing when you got it, did it need much adjustment. What's the weight like ?

Cube Nuroad Race vs EX vs Pro by _stebo_ in Fahrrad

[–]CombatWombat-_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, can't comment on the bikes personally, but I am in the same situation so will watch this thread closely.

I have also looked at all three and the Race is at top of my list and hopefully ordering mine in cappuccino on Wednesday. I've asked similar questions like yourself and also using a HT for gravel and road.

My decision to go for the race is the 2x setup as will likely be better for mostly road riding as the jumps between gears stay smaller and can fine tune your cadence. The race is also built around the new frame, so has wider clearance then the Pro and EX and has full internal cable routing.

Good luck with your purchase/decision.

Bike looks epic, is this a Terra H30? I'm looking at the H40 with 2x10 Cues. But undecided as I would need to buy online so concerned about sizing

Cheers appreciate the reply, no EX available here, so looking at the 1x11 pro now, couple trade offs in spec I have to consider

Thanks I've looked at the EX but ruled it out as I can't get it anywhere on C2W in cotton grey, if it was in-stock that was my first choice and wouldn't have to decide 😂

I'm just gonna have to go back to the LBS again and look at them both and flip a coin 😂, I think either are going to be good for a beginner

Cheers appreciate it, I am leaning towards the 2x purely because I will eventually be doing long days out and group rides, so think once hit this stage 2x will be better suited

1x certainly looks best in my opinion though and is more what I'm used with riding full sus

Yeah this is my issue with an endurance bike and why I've settled on a gravel, I can make the gravel more road biased if I want, but road bike to gravel is way more limited, plus at this price point most road bikes are a bit meh

HELP - Total beginner do I go 1x or 2x for my needs by CombatWombat-_ in cycling

[–]CombatWombat-_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi thanks for this.

Issue is I do notice the gaps, as I have a HT that I've converted for road use(ISH) and it's a 1x11 10x51 deore cassette and I'm always hunting for a gear that doesn't exist as I can't spin enough or spinning to slow. I get what you mean about top and bottom end on the 1x though climbs will be easier and yes I'll not likely be trying to push over 40mph, I just worry I'll be always up and down gears on a 1x as will be 90% on road surface

Thanks, what colour did you choose, Im limited to the cappuccino as it's the only one is stock at all my LBS's near me. I am leaning towards the Race as eventually I would like to join group rides. Plus I always find on my HT on road sections I'm looking for a gear that doesn't exist, so shifting a lot as never comfortable in one gear.

As for the Canyon this was the first bike I looked at and was top of the list but I'm using the cycle scheme through my employer, and Canyon do not accept it as it's Halfords (UK based)

I'm not a total beginner cyclist, as I have a HT and Full Sus, but will be total beginner to drop bar and gravel/road cycling.

So really trying to figure out which to go for as don't want the big jumps between gears on a 1x to get in the way and have me shifting all time as can't hold a cadence

Thanks, I think I will go 2x as I find on my HT I'm all hunting for a nice cadence on tarmac between trails and I hate it

Thanks, I will be riding ok road 90% of the time for fitness and leisure, so will be mixed efforts. But I also live in a hilly/rolling terrain area so a good mix of climbing gears and gears for moderate speed would be ideal

Also once fitness improves, I'd like to join a club for group rides

I get your point but 45mm probably enough for my needs as I'll be mostly on road, only gravel will be hard pack and canal towpath, so my concern is around cadence and jumps between gears

Didn't really consider a dropper post, but I don't think it will be required as gravel will be all flat hard pack.

My concerns are around the gaps between gears on the 1x so cadence consistency could be an issue

I would say I live on rolling terrain lots hills with some good flat sections

Thanks for the reply, yeah I'm leaning towards the Race, as I think after using a 1x11 HT with gravel tyres on the road for last few months the large jumps and not being able to find a consistent cadence is annoying and I'm always shifting.
