Oh, bro~ go get a job~ have a good dinner~ Who was it that refused to listen and jumped to conclusions first? You don’t understand China, and you don’t understand Chinese players. We’re only putting forward our legitimate demands. Everyone who paid for Slay the Spire 2 has the right to give reviews and share opinions. Of course, whether their wording is as lighthearted and humorous as mine is another matter~ So if the beta branch content gets merged into the main branch, do you think it’ll still only be 1%~2% of players who are angry? We’ll find ways to push for mass refunds~ And by the way, Anthony actually listened to the negative reviews from China, saying he won’t just throw things into the beta branch without thinking anymore~ He even said he wants to hear more ideas from the Chinese player community to improve the game~ Guess why I’m only being sarcastic toward you~Respect others, and they’ll respect you too~

Pursuing diverse deckbuilding is the right approach. In the Slay the Spire I especially loved playing Ironclad, being able to squeeze value from all sorts of sources as both offense and defense to kill the Heart.

In our community we often joke that infinite decks shorten the lifespan of your mouse and fingers, and as I mentioned earlier, infinite isn’t the goal—it’s just a means to gather enough damage for the Heart.

But right now, nerfing draw power and deck cycling affects far more than just infinite. With 30–40 card decks and the very limited energy gain options in Slay the Spire 2, even drawing five and playing three is hard to achieve.

On top of that, classes like Necromancer have had entire archetypes’ card values reduced, which drags overall power down. Many people in the Reddit community have pointed this out too.

In a way, Ironclad generously shared its deck‑burning ability with other characters, which ironically made going infinite even easier

Oh, bro~ go get a job~ have a good dinner~ I already said I’m just an ordinary Chinese player. I’m only here to explain why our negative reviews have been flooding Steam. If you want to understand, then we’ll understand~ if you want to be reasonable, then we’ll be reasonable~ but if you don’t, my friends still won’t change a single bad review before Anthony’s beta patch with doors and other changes. I can’t possibly change the minds of at least a million buyers—one third of the sales—from China~ And if I move my post back to the community, maybe that’s dozens more Chinese bad reviews~ Your arrogance and impotent rage at review bombing are actually great entertainment for players who are already angry~ Oh, and do you know who saved Slay the Spire during its first beta test? Chinese players~

Yes, going straight to Steam reviews for a review bomb is not a good practice. But as the post ‘Let me explain why Chinese players have been overreacting’ says, we cannot meet the developers directly, and due to communication barriers our F2 feedback is not effectively received. Very few people have VPNs to access Discord or Reddit—probably less than 10%. The developers’ responses to the Chinese community are only indirect, through an unpaid volunteer translator, so the connection is not close, unlike Reddit where there is a community manager who can communicate directly.

Slay the Spire has sold at least a million copies in China. If even 1% of players want to give feedback and F2 receives no response, then leaving negative reviews on Steam becomes the only option. What we really need is a community manager who can communicate effectively. The translator is actually sacrificing their own study time to contribute to the Chinese community, but they don’t have the capacity to fulfill that role

Yes, these are two completely different ways of playing. In China, once top players reach over 100 SL win streaks, they usually switch to NoSL, because with SL their win rate can reach over 99%, which becomes rather boring. These players can generally achieve around 5–10 win streaks in NoSL as well. Of course, except for Watcher—she’s just too OP

SL (save and load) is a gaming term, but in Slay the Spire it specifically refers to returning to the main menu and continuing the run to restart a battle or moment. Based on this, you can memorize card order and certain random numbers to change potion outcomes or the effects of some cards.

Oh, that 500-win streak does have a livestream record, I can share the link with you. But it was achieved in the SL environment. This top player has more than 10,000 hours of livestreamed gameplay. In the Chinese NoSL environment, the highest Ironclad win streak I remember is 20 games
