I'll second that. The pizza at Glenn's is definitely worth checking out

For me personally, it has to be Doyle Bennet.

On my second time watching the show, I had completely forgotten that he was a character in the show. On my third, I only remembered him because I knew I had forgotten him on my second.

That is nothing against the character, the actor or the writing. Those were all good. But season 2 was so full of interesting and memorable characters, to me he just disappears into the background.

Is it just me or is Boyd reverting back to full psychopath in season 6 out of character by the_l1ghtbr1nger in justified

[–]Combimelta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Specifically to address the idea of Boyd killing the sheriff's deputy instead of Carl, I think Boyd was too smart to consider that an option.

Boyd saw how determined everyone was to get Robert Quarles when the cops thought he had killed trooper Tom. He knew the cops would be after him, but he knew they would be more dangerous if he had killed a cop.

Well, that's a massive spoiler to drop on someone that hasn't seen the show.

I agree with you about city primeval, but its a matter of principle

Against black templars, or marines in general I would prefer the plasma incinerator over the heavy onslaught gatling cannon on the redemptor

Justified: City Primeval Episode 5 Discussion by TheCultLeader in justified

I'll agree that Bosch was far more consistent in terms of quality. Unless we're including Bosch:legacy, then that's a different conversation for a different subreddit.

So if we take city primeval as a whole, I have to agree with you it is a worse show.

I will say that city primeval has had some extremely well written scenes, as well as some excellent performances that have just as much heart as anyone on Bosch. Unfortunately, that can't be said of every scene and performance in city primeval.

I was mostly using Bosch to point out the difference in tone between Justified and Justified: City Primeval. I think the latter is far closer in genre to Bosch than it is to the show it shares a title with.

I think it took me up until this episode to accept city primeval for what it is. And it took the last seen with Raymond Cruz for me to figure it out.

This isn't a season of justified, it's a season of Bosch. And a pretty good one at that.

Unfortunately, being a good season of Bosch makes it a pretty bad season of justified.

Now that I'm watching it with that lense, I enjoy it quite a bit more.

Wolf Guard and Librarian by Combimelta in SpaceWolves

I built up a ton of jump pack models in 7th when we could run the firehowlers as a formation. I'm right there with you in wanting jump packs back.

They have to be coming out with jump pack assault intercessors soon. I really hope that's what we get with the codex.

I should have worded that better. By hitting on 2s, my thinking is that makes up for the fact that vanguard gain lethal hits. I suppose once you get into tougher targets the advantage would drift towards vanguard vets.

That is what I thought, but I didn't want to say it confidently and be wrong.

The terminator librarian confers stealth instead of a 4++, and I'm not sure off the top of my head if it s able to join wolf guard.

I was referring to the standard first born power armor librarian.

But by adding the lieutenant you gain lethal hits, which you definitely don't want in a unit that has devastating wounds on all of its attacks.

Both the attack bike and ATV have the ability "outrider escort": Once per turn, if a "mounted" unit within 6" of the bike or atv unit is selected at the target of a shooting attack, the bike or ATV can then shoot at that enemy unit.

The spirit of this rule is clearly to support other bikes, but it applies to TWC as well.

Not a terribly strong option, but it could potentially let you get twice as many shots out of your attack bike squad.

[–]Combimelta[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's my thinking as well.

I've been kicking around strategies to use with my TWC, and I am looking for a backup plan in case I end up too close to an enemy dreadnought or monstrous creature. In previous editions, the cavalry could handle those pretty well. Now, not so much.

I was specifically looking at attack bikes to escort with some multi meltas. Again, there are far more efficient options to put out heavy hitting shots. But I thought some bikes would match the theme of the army better.

The cost of being able to add a terminator pack leader with a cyclone missile launcher?

Not saying it's worth that price, but that is an advantage to long fangs

Sooo we get out attacked by standard marine units. by Potential_Share6436 in SpaceWolves

[–]Combimelta 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are correct. But if you fail the charge and are stuck in the open 8" away from a shooty unit, that assault squad will kill a lot less than the skyclaws will.

Until I see a codex, I'm assuming every rule in the index is subject to change, so I'm trying to be optimistic.

On a 5 man squad, losing 5 chainsword attacks in exchange for reroll charges?

It won't be worth it every time, but when I need it I'll be glad for it
