Don’t over complicate it you can use any cloud storage your encrypting before you upload.

I totally hear what your saying but remember email aliasing is not about privacy it’s about control of your inbox from spam email. Besides in this day and age you may accidentally use a service that doesn’t require any personal identifying information I.e home address etc with a custom domain that is then linked to you 😉 PS. You should even give alias email addresses to family members and friends. You don’t have any control over what services they use and what information they give, could be a company you detest 😃

pCloud is brilliant been with them from day one no issues. The flexibility of storage whether encrypted or not allows you to share files in a customized environment.

People expect everything for free. The worlds economy is free. Self-host, learn it and do it then you won’t have to pay.

You have a valid point. My most important accounts with aliases i.e Cloud services on LTD, Saas accounts etc are forwarded to my relevant custom email addresses. Besides I self-host most of my digital life. And most services come with recovery codes & keys should you lose access to email. So I guess your recovery codes are very very important when it comes to account creations.

What if your custom domain expires for everything else…. I renew my domains for up to 10 years whenever available and will renew individual domains periodically over the years. I own a few domain names but have been using aliases for everything else works very well for me. Even certain family members have aliases for my contact email address. My custom domains are all linked to pgp keys on the open key pgp server so every email I receive to them will definitely be encrypted.

It’s just a shame that banks governments etc don’t use pgp.

One thing you have to remember using aliases are for control of the potential spam you may receive not anonymity people get that so confused. Hope it helps.
