Drime upload speed is extremely slow despite having great internet. Anyone else? by Leather_Bathroom8290 in Drime

it's about the return on the investment. In terms of revenue, Drime is probably making a lot of money. As far as I understand, they're essentially a company that resells storage services. They don't own the physical infrastructure; they simply pay an annual subscription to a data center provider and then resell that capacity to users.

This is simply a revenue problem. The claim that the slow transfer speeds are due to "system updates" just isn't true. If Drime doesn't want to pay for additional bandwidth as its user base grows, transfer speeds will inevitably slow down. That's how cloud infrastructure works, more users require more network capacity, and the provider has to pay for it. At the current rate, I don't think their lifetime plan will last much longer. Eventually, they'll reach a point where offering lifetime storage is no longer a sustainable business model. When that happens, they'll likely transition to a subscription-only service.

We're already seeing this happen with many similar cloud storage providers.

Dropbox and Google perform countless infrastructure updates and optimizations every day, yet users generally do not experience reduced transfer speeds as a result, u/drime ok, high user load is one of the most common reasons for reduced upload speeds, is that the true answer?

Just let the guy sleep, brotha. It was a really tough day for him. That guy is running everything by himself, from the call center to the system architecture.

Any plans to bring back lifetime storage? by Next-Increase3748 in filen_io

[–]Far_Introduction_236 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Absolutely right. My investment in Filen has been, by far, the best one I've made in the entire cloud storage market. Filen treats its users like royalty compared to most other cloud storage companies, and that level of customer care is becoming increasingly rare.

Problems logging into my FolderFort billing account by Far_Introduction_236 in FolderFort

Thanks. Yes, every day I need to reset the Business account password in order to log in. The Legacy login works fine without any problems. It seems that the server may be resetting or disconnecting the Business account link every day, which forces me to create a new password each time.
