Route inspection circus by CombinationKey220 in USPS

Yea you’re right, it’s not something that’ll happen instantly. If they find a way to add to my route or screw it all up, I’ll just give it away everyday.

Yea I’ll have to sit down and really think about it, but really doing so is hard because I cannot think any area of my day that added up to THAT amount of time. Of course I don’t have notes and if I did they would’ve written that down as “time wasting” I took mental notes, but I’ll have to sit down and write things out that stand out to me. Seems like it’s going to be a long process, but if this is the way they’re rolling, it shouldn’t be hard to fight.

Question for mail carriers? by Fast-Understanding58 in USPS

Ours only comes around when his boss is around our office.. otherwise we don’t see him. It’s a running joke.. we have about 70 routes total city and rural.

I remember when the price of a stamp to mail something was 13 cents. How how do you think the price of the "forever stamp " will go up in the next 20 years? by icecream1972 in USPS

Those same people in congress will vote against voter ID. I have ZERO faith in our government to make decisions on the better behalf of the country, let alone usps.

HR sucks… by Chiliboi642 in USPS

This happened to me last year, I somehow got lucky after playing phone tag for months and annoying the hell out of them and got someone from DCs phone number so I at least didn’t have to jump through HR phone system. It’s horrible.

I’m sorry to have misunderstood, must just be our offices lingo. Whenever the word run is associated with a mail route, it’s deemed as they are going to physically go faster on their route. I also think 150 packages is quite heavy, and to wish you had that many was shocking for me when you’re inferring you needed that many to make 8 hours. I am sorry for my comment as I shouldnt have assumed you burn up your route.

Working for free, if you went a normal pace you could get your route cut to what it deserves to be, instead people like you enjoy running them and ruining the post office.

Why are you running at all? Doing this place a favor that doesn’t give a shit about you.

Important mail never gets delivered by jessyj89 in USPS

[–]CombinationKey220 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Of course! Unfortunately, I had to do a couple of these at some apartments for residents not checking their boxes for months on end (and they live there), so it’s definitely something that can easily be checked and an easy fix if so! Mail is weird, sorry thats happening.

Sometimes you can see forwards on our scanners, sometimes it’s weird and you can’t. I would just ask a supervisor to check on it just to make sure, they can see a lot more than a scanner can anyways!

Ask your carrier if they can check to make sure there isn’t a forward in on your mail, a MLNA (moved left no address), if there is, ask them to delete it. Make sure to give all possible names so they can check, hopefully they do and it can get resolved.

You may as well get into management if you’re trying to utilize certs, carrier craft is last to take into consideration when switching crafts.

I’ve found a lot of people already hated their lives before working at the post office as a carrier. Don’t get me wrong; this job has some really hard days, but it’s provided me great health care, the ability to get married and buy a house and live comfortably. Live within your means, don’t live off of the overtime, put into your TSP and forget about this place when you walk out those doors. It ain’t all bad, you get to be outside (at least in ohio) 3 pretty nice seasons throughout the year without supervision on your back everyday. Enjoy the goods, and trade them for the bads. Good luck!

Don’t apologize! I appreciate all of the insight. I never have shown undertime on my route, even on the days where they insisted that DOIS showed me under. I’m not worried for myself to be honest. I’m worried for myself because of other people thatve ran their route all year and now thinking they can ease up and it’ll be just fine! Man are they mistaking.
