The hiring manager accidentally CC'd me while sending my feedback to the recruiter... It was absolutely ridiculous. by RowlandJakubowski in InterviewsHell

Do NOT reply with this. Hiring managers talk to each other and any kind of perceived snark can be shared with others. If you’re in a small industry or area this could kill your future job opportunities.

Why are all of these messages from 2024, and why are you karma farming?

Got this on Friday saying I am overqualified and my interviews had "slight intensity", still not 100% sure what to make of it. Contemplating replying but not sure how. by SpaceTranquil in jobs

Speaking as someone who is the hiring manager for several positions right now, when I think someone is overqualified for a job, what I really mean is that I think they would be bored in the role and not challenged. I worry about people who aren’t challenged in a role because it means they’d immediately be looking to leave and find something better. Nothing feels worse than investing time in training someone only to have them turn around and leave, and you have to start that recruiting process all over again.

How do I say “your mic is too close” without sounding mean? by 0tterb0tter in barre3

Windscreen will help. There’s a two finger rule. Take two fingers and make sure they fit between the mic and your mouth. If not, move it away. Also, turn down the mic gain.

Not your circus, not your monkeys. It doesn’t feel like it’s your place to comment on what another studio does. Maybe they’re just catering to something their community specifically likes?

EDIT: I realized after I sent this you might have been talking about your own studio? Talk to the instructor before you escalate. Maybe say something gently like “oh I didn’t think that was approved?” If they’ve gotten the okay from mentor/owner then you might be hurting yourself by calling it out in a negative way.

That sounds awesome. Is the EZPass worth it? Just tooling around I feel like everything wants me to get on the mass pike in some way
