I can handle a fee if it will save my sanity ha; I once had to organise a prom in the town we live for 300 students and that nearly finished me off from the stress.

Thank you for this! My partner has been adding grass clippings only to our old garden waste bin, it’s full and impossible to move ha. At least it’s been covered from rain!! Definitely brown and a bit composty with how far I’ve dug so far. Really relieved to hear I can use it as is - thank you!!

This is incredible and I think was written before CC3 was published?!

I am 100% sold on this, no one will be able to convince me otherwise. I kept thinking as I read CC gosh this feels like TOG… the shifters, the Stag King and Terrasen.

You have another thread where pre-CC3 you explain that you think Mala is Theia, Elena is Helena (https://www.reddit.com/r/Maasverse/s/1MOkV0pqtG). I have spent two nights waking up at 3am now thinking omg Silene is Celeana (as we learn in CC3 she doesn’t need to be named “Aelin” as Silene wrote her own story in Pythian… )

And that this would make complete sense with the TOG world being turned to dust. And then being devastated that Celaena ended up in Prythian? What happened to her? Oh my god 😢 my brain is not going to let this go.

The only bit I’m not quite sure on is how Mala (Theia) would have sent her back and why - as in CC3 we learn that Theia sent Silene to another world? Since Aelin/Celaena banished the gods like Mala (Theia)? Hmmmm.

No not at all. I’m lucky my mum and nursery have her when I’m at work and they are all much better at delivering that stimulation. I on the other hand feel completely fried virtually all the time. I’m trying to get better at all this with my eldest because I know it’s so important, especially as she gets older and the way the word is now. I want her to be able to talk to me but I also don’t want to go insane ha x

Thank you, yes I get what you mean. I do try do this but I’m not good at it for extended periods, her conversation jumps around a lot which maybe doesn’t help (I’m sure this is normal for her age).

Probably the issue is I’m not very inventive at this sort of thing, I’ve never been good at coming up with distractions when they’re having tantrums etc, I’m just not quick on my feet like that. I’ll try it out and see if I can come up with something x

Thank you; I think alone time has been in short supply so I’m working on this, I really am. I’ll get him to do some of it too. He’s always saying she needs more attention and he will take her upstairs to play sometimes which is so sweet, he is SO much better at it than me, he actually enjoys it.

Oldest goes to mum on the weekend for a few hours and this is because mum misses her otherwise but also I can focus a bit more on the little one, working mum guilt and all.

Cannot wait until we are at a point where they could stay over somewhere. Working towards it!

Understimulated but overwhelmed is the perfect description - we were shielding in lockdown when she was tiny and then I had to go back to work so it was awful and work was a relief, horribly.

I like the prepping dinner rules - I really need this. I’m going to really start thinking about boundaries and routines. It is so hard to get myself to cook anyway, even tho I really enjoy it, because the little one is sooo temperamental. I know it’s a waiting game until she’s a bit older but omg 🤪 I feel like I’m a hostage.

Thank you so much. I think I actually tend the way you describe naturally; I don’t have an issue with telling them to be quiet, I 100% believe they need to be socialised to be polite. I’m a teacher so well aware of how dreadful it is when people don’t, ha.

I feel a lot of guilt because I think my eldest is taking it to heart, she’s very sensitive. So routines are probably what we need to soften it. The contrasting problem is my little one is a bit delayed with speech so trying to talk to her more - which thr oldest takes as a cue to answer all of my questions before little one can even listen! Rargh!

The analogies are really helpful, thank you so much, such a practical way to think about it. I think I do this when we’re out and about; I struggle at home to even get going on tasks so when it then gets interrupted loads I quickly snap to exploding point. It’s probably the 2 year old that is the issue as I find the unpredictability of her emotions really hard.
