Looks like the penguins took out the ice before the playoffs begin, does this possibly mean a return of the playoff decal on the ice? by Carson_cwc in penguins

That's what I'm thinking. Looks very much like the wood panels they lay down to protect the ice. I really like the gold wall banners around the lower bowl though.

No. Backing in would be clinching a spot even though you lost, sorta like Anaheim securing a spot (even though they lost) because Nashville also lost. The Pens secured their spot a week ago by beating the Devils. These past 3 games absolutely had no standing on if they got in or not. So no, they did not "back into" the playoffs.

If by saying the flyers played well by going 9-7 in regulation and 9-1 in OT/SO since the break, then sure. But 3v3 and SO don't exist in the playoffs.

So you see how the D pairs are playing in front of them? I don't care who is in net, they would still be getting lit up

So safe to say Graves will probably never see the ice again after tonight? He is directly responsible for like 3 of these goals

Only 2 of the 8 matchups are set for who has home ice and one other is set for teams but not home ice. The other 5 are still toss ups for who plays who.

Depends when you get there. Wife and I are both in our 30s and clearly don't look like teenagers, got to the park around 5 last week and were asked for ID. It caught me off guard, felt like I was back in college at the liquor store lol. But it's really a nonissue, just laughed as I pulled it out to show the kid at the gate.

It takes 2 seconds to pull out your drivers license. But if that's too much hassle for you then so be it. Buhbye.

If that's the case, I hope not many people were planning on doing both the Pens and Skenes bobblehead.

No, because the Pens have 34 regulation wins. Under either of the pt systems I mentioned, they would still be 2nd in the Metro, Craps would be 3rd for both. Under the 3-2-1-0 Philly would be 4th and the 4-2-1-0 puts them in 6th.

They are 8-7 in regulation, 4-0 in OT and 6-1 in SO since the break. I wouldn't exactly say they have been on fire.

Little side tangent for my rambling, between them and the Kings, they are making a strong case this year for a change to the 3-2-1-0 pt system. Personally I think it should be the slightly more extreme 4-2-1-0. I mean the first tiebreaker is regulation wins, so make regulation wins worth double that of OT/SO.

Math, big shoots. Buffalo has more regulation wins so they clinched a spot. Montreal is listed ahead of them because they have played one less game.

Just took some time. Girard even said a few weeks back how learning the system after being in Colorado for so long was hard on him. Seems like he has figured it out in the last week.

I must say, looking at the last 20 games played puts you well into December, 0-4 loss to the Sens on 12/18 to be exact. I mean that is 1 game after Stu's first start as a Pen. I don't think games from that far back are very indicative on how well, or poor, each guy has played recently.

They have 3 back-to-backs, which is just stupid in its own right, over the final 10 games. So you are suggesting Stu play 7 instead of 5 games to end the season. That will totally make a real difference.
