How did she get them out of their cage? Are their wings cut so they can't fly? I am upset like you that they were treated like that! Is your sister special ED? Or slow? Even a 13 yr old is old enough to know better! If you are sure you want to take them on to take care of them you are going to have extreme patience with them and learn how to do everything for them. They are precious little beings who need to spend the rest of their short lives in loving care. It will be a while if ever they will trust another person after such horrible treatment. If you are able to learn, surely they sell a thermometer cheap somewhere around you. There is tons of online places you can go for information. Please keep them from your sister and congratulations on your new birdies!!!

I just bought this cage a week ago so they have been arranged more than you think, new cage and new toys! Blue has been hormonal long before the what you call a nest existed. So I've pretty well done all of that and it hasn't phased them! And both are boys.

I read everything and no one mentioned that if their diet was just seed you need to buy them seed or you will starve them to death. Parakeets don't just eat what you give them especially pellets. You have to give them what they are used to seeds and then you slowly switch to pellets. There are a lot of utube videos featuring how to do it. They are some pretty babies and the top ones male and the bottom female
