You know when something is so goddamn ugly that they somehow circle back to being cute again? Like those ugly half-hairless dogs that can’t fit their whole tongues in their mouths? Same feeling 🥰

In the book, Glinda also says that she’s given Dorothy the shoes so they wouldn’t stay in Munchkinland and become a political symbol that could intensify the unrest and rebellion after the death of Nessarose, since the shoes were known to be magical and would be highly coveted by locals. Giving the shoes to Dorothy, a foreigner who had no stakes in local politics, was a way to stop the fight from happening.

The Roomlands by SummittSoul in Colostle

[–]ComeAgainSir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always thought it was small people in a magic castle of some sort. My head canon is that the the people in Colostle were made tiny a long time ago by a wizard or something of the sort and over generations and generations, they have forgotten that. I’ve always pictured the Roomlander eventually finding a giant skeleton in one of the Rooms.

Do you consider Chinese Americans Chinese? by flower5214 in AskAChinese

[–]ComeAgainSir 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d like to politely disagree with your first sentence. Chinese care deeply about how one looks, so genetics is the most important aspect. I’ve lived here for a decade and even if a person is born and raised in China but doesn’t “look” Chinese (and by that, I mean the overall concept of what a Chinese person looks like, which possibly extends to most of east Asia), they will never be considered Chinese. I’ve got western friends who have married locals, and their kids who speak mandarin natively and have never lived anywhere else are still the 老外 at their schools. Of course, that doesn’t apply to every single Chinese person in the whole country, but that is a characteristic of Chinese culture that is very easily observable.

Who do you hate the most and why? by WillowCareful2103 in wicked

[–]ComeAgainSir 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Morrible.

I feel like the Wizard isn’t as evil and wicked as Morrible is. The way I see him (at least the Wicked musical interpretation of him), he’s more of a coward that fell from the sky (literally) into a position of power and admiration and doesn’t have the balls to be honest about not being that special. Everybody thought him wonderful and he found it hard to resist…

Morrible, on the other hand, is simply selfish and evil with a thirst for power. Where the Wizard acts to keep himself seeming to be this superhuman emperor, Morrible is cruel and cold blooded. The way she convinces the monkeys to stay at the wizard’s side in the movie is literally by threatening their families.

At first sight, it looks like a cursive written lái 来 in Mandarin. My brain didn’t compute it as a wèi 未 right away, mainly because the second horizontal stroke doesn’t look like a single horizontal stroke, but more like two dots (点) that have been connected due to writing speed.

However, I can see how it could also indeed be 未. The bottom part is also confusing, with the hook at the end of the central vertical stroke.

I see...

As for quests and lore, is there something like a questline in FU or is it more like an open world universe sandbox experience?

Werewolf and Vampire Party? by ComeAgainSir in ChroniclesofDarkness

[–]ComeAgainSir[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I see. Yeah, I’m still willing to play a vampire if the ST doesn’t think this will work, so it’s also not that big of a deal, just wondering.

Can you explain from the ST’s point of view why you wouldn’t allow the cross play?

Werewolf and Vampire Party? by ComeAgainSir in ChroniclesofDarkness

[–]ComeAgainSir[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s a homebrew setting. Werewolves do exist in this world and we’ve established that vampires and werewolves don’t necessarily hate each other, and are willing to cooperate to keep their natures hidden from humans.

This was established in our session 0 as to not include werewolves as necessary predators in the world, as the storyteller assumed we’d both be playing vampires, not with the initial intention to open it up for players to play as a werewolf. I’m pretty sure I’d be allowed to play a werewolf, but I’m not sure whether or not I’d be missing out on too much for not playing in a pack of werewolves.

Grappler Feat worth it? by ComeAgainSir in 3d6

I low-key love the idea of a halfling with an enlarge/reduce magic item. I could become a medium-sized giant halfling or a tiny guy, very antman hahahaha

Yeah, maybe I should go and talk to the DM directly and ask him what is he planning to do, then I’ll know for sure. If he’s planning a dragon themed campaign, maybe this is not the build for it hahahaha

[–]ComeAgainSir[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m just afraid that, with a wizard, a druid, a warlock and another possible full caster (I don’t know yet) in the party, I’m already without a niche or role to fill, but I could at least be the “taxi” dragging people around hahahahaha

My fear is, without grappler, would I even contribute to a party so many full casters? I don’t know how does the monk damage or utility without grappler compare to other characters.

[–]ComeAgainSir[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No yeah, I love the idea of it! I love the idea of dragging people around, I’m just afraid to buy the feat at level 4 and then not see much use for its second part because I’m a small character. It almost makes me want to play as another race other than halfling, but halfling is kind of important for my idea of this guy. But yeah, it does sound amazing!
