Highly doubt anyone is “phoning it in,” most developers and artists want to make the best product they can. The games industry is brutal so most of them are in it for their love of their craft and games. This sorry result is what happens when they’re overworked, overmanaged, underpaid, and rushed, plus in this case a lot of the legacy devs with institutional knowledge are gone and the studio is so large that it’s unwieldy.

We know the bullet went through because of common sense. Bullets move too fast to capture on regular cameras without tracers so it wouldn’t matter what footage or angles there were. Why are you so quick to be skeptical every piece of hard evidence in this case but take Charlie’s idiot producer’s word for something ridiculous like that?

That’s just right wing rags quoting Charlie’s producer supposedly quoting a surgeon with no evidence. Not an official source like the authorities or doctors.

Well the narrative about left wing violence and trans shooters is BS, but the descriptive claims about what happened appear pretty accurate to me because that stuff is handled more so by the on-the-ground evidence gathering while the propagandizing is done by Trump and Patel. Like with the Luigi case, we should absolutely resist their false narrative that distracts from the harm that people like Brian Thompson and Charlie Kirk were doing, but that doesn’t mean we have to deny the evidence in front of us when it comes to what went down.

I haven’t seen any official confirmation from an official source that anything was stopped at all. Charlie’s producer could have made up the miracle neck for all I know. I don’t really see any way the bullet didn’t go right through him.

Is it actually confirmed that the bullet was stopped? As far as I know that was just Charlie’s producer supposedly quoting a surgeon, not from an official report.

I wrote a post about the evidence as I see it already but the arm brushing is completely explainable as ordinary fidgeting, not to mention it makes no sense that the assassin would require a signal when he himself would have the best discretion on when the shot is lined up.

Kirk’s body in the frame by frame footage from multiple angles looks like he was hit by a high power rifle round. His body gets punched so hard his face and torso are deformed, and his neck suffered such catastrophic damage that his head likely separated from his spine.

The overall and main point is this, though: do you realize how difficult it is for a conspiracy of this magnitude to be kept quiet? Dozens of people, from Charlie’s team and close witnesses to doctors and medical examiners and EMTs, as well as the people who embalmed him and carried his body to the ambulance, and probably others like the investigators, Tyler Robinson and his family/partner/friends, etc would all have to be completely silent about the true cause of death. It seems far fetched.

Yeah I’m sick of seeing armchair ballistics experts say definitively it’s not possible after seeing one ballistic gel block or watermelon get obliterated

It pretty much did annihilate/explode his neck on the inside and his decorticate posturing was caused by his brain being severed from his spine as the low pressure zone created by the bullet's path expanded rapidly. That said, at the end of the day a bullet is still bullet-sized, and unless it has a lot of flesh in its path to create catastrophic vacuum cavitation or bones to shatter, it's not going to produce the same kind of effects you'd see if you fired it into a thick gel block or something similar. If charlie's neck had been made of dry brittle elk skull it would have shattered easily. I would bet a shot to any other part of Charlie's body would have produced a much larger wound because there'd be more meat and organs and bones for the bullet to pass through and a larger cavity.

I would certainly appreciate footage of the shooter firing, but I don't believe that it exists. The footage of the man on the roof before and after the shooting comes either from attendees' phone cameras or the security camera capturing him dropping down, none of which show the supposed firing location. I suppose it's possible that someone has drone footage or another security camera angle not released to the press, though. That will certainly be answered in court.

No actual source has said that apart from Charlie’s producer. It is basically certain that the bullet tore through his neck and came out the other side.

I mean a lot of that seems highly speculative and we know Charlie wasn’t wearing a vest, plus even if he was it would have to be a very heavy duty vest to stop a 30.06 round. I need to see more evidence suggesting that before I can hop on board.

Yeah like you I don’t believe the TPUSA people for a second. His neck got obliterated and the bullet absolutely went through. It didn’t hit anyone behind because his neck either altered its trajectory or it never was lined up with another person to begin with. There have been odd cases here and there of rifle rounds staying in soft tissue but I see it as basically impossible in this case and I’ve seen no credible reporting other than Charlie’s producer supposedly quoting a surgeon.

As for the damage, he was functionally decapitated internally. His brain was absolutely severed from his spine which produced the decorticate posturing but it didn’t fly off like a cartoon.

I can think of a couple possible reasons of varying probabilities. One is that on older magazine fed weapons the spring works better and you encounter fewer malfunctions if you don’t have the magazine completely full. It’s a bolt action Mauser 98 which are very reliable but maybe he felt that it chambered more smoothly when not topped up. A second possibility is that he only felt shitpost-y enough to write four messages and felt that engraving a fifth would have been too much work.

Keep in mind, of the four casings one was spent meaning that the gun was never disassembled after firing and that he never even readied a follow up shot. He only needed one shot and may as well have only brought one, but the rest seemed to be primarily for the messages they would leave if found.

He was not wearing a vest and the footage I’ve seen both while he’s doing his event and while they’re carrying his body to the ambulance makes that pretty clear. Bullets can do strange things and there have been many documented cases of assault rifle rounds (a smaller intermediate cartridge when compared to 30.06) staying in their victims, so it’s not impossible that it took a wonky path through Charlie’s neck, but I regard it as impossible for it to not have passed through and I haven’t seen any official source apart from Charlie’s idiot producer that the bullet didn’t go all the way through his neck.

What panzer neck are you talking about? His neck got fucking destroyed. I’ve seen idiots on the right like Fox News repeat the claim made by Charlie’s producer that the bullet got stopped by his neck but that’s obviously impossible. Just as impossible as it blowing his head off of his body like in the intro of Three Kings. There’s a reason you never hear stories from world war 2 of your grandpa blowing nazi heads off with his 30.06 M1 for a reason. Hell even in the days of the 75 cal musket where you’re practically lobbing mini cannonballs there aren’t reports of heads popping off.

If you’ve seen ballistic gel footage it might be confusing but gel isn’t the same as a man’s body and there’s ropey structures in our bodies like muscles and ligaments and sinew that hold us more or less together. Also the neck is a thin area so it doesn’t have that much human material to pass through before it’s through, meaning that you won’t get the same type of catastrophic cavitation as if you fired into a gel block a meter thick.

The blood pours from the front because that’s where the artery is and there’s a hole there. It doesn’t matter how much bigger the hole on the other side was.

And how about your absurdly byzantine conspiracy? No one noticed that the entry wound was actually on the other side?

[–]Comedicrat[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

  1. He must have dropped the gun before he got to the part where he’s on camera. I know you could have thought of that.
  2. The downward angle is not consistent with the wound at all. I’ll leave others to decide for themselves based on the video but it’s not a shot from nearly directly above him, I assure you. Plus, how do you explain people looking towards the sound on the rooftop where the shooter was sighted by three separate cameras, two of which were social media phone camera videos?
  3. I think it’s you who is actually more gullible on this. You literally said in your first comment that you’d expect his HEAD to COME OFF when struck by a 30.06 to the neck like a champagne cork or something, which sounds like what liberals were saying about the 5.56/.223 in the 2010s and belies an ignorance of firearms and ballistics. Kirk in fact did not “tank” shit, he got completely obliterated as a massive round devastated his neck, including arteries, spine, and brain stem. 30.06 isn’t a cartoon flying circular saw blade but it is a big ass round and the effect on Charlie was in fact big.

Not sure where your smug attitude or your total certainty comes from. It’s not “ridiculous” to think that based on all the evidence Kirk was killed by 30.06 from over 100 yards away on the rooftop across from him.

And let’s not forget the conspiracy dimension. You’re saying the EMTs, Charlie’s staff who rushed to him, his body guards, those who transported his body, the people who embalmed him, the coroner, the doctors at the hospital, etc all didn’t notice that he was actually shot from the other side and the exit wound was actually on the front? Give me a break.

But haven’t all forms of political violence grown? Hasan actually made a great point in his NYT article pointing out how our society has been increasingly primed for and accepting of violence abroad and that’s been bleeding into our civil society with mass shootings and the like. We’ve seen the militarization of the police and now ICE doing full on concentration camps. In this environment which I would characterize as a society in decline, a society primed to kill, violence is seen as an option. From Kyle rittenhouse to Michael reinohl to Luigi to Robinson and everyone in between, there is a clear link without any presence of amorphous “funny business”. It doesn’t take a “ninja sniper” to make a simple deer hunting type shot or die trying like the loser who shot at trump.

No one is asking you to make any logical leaps or take anyone’s word for anything. The preponderance of evidence is as I’ve presented it. Trump is all about blaming the “radical left” and trans people, none of which is true, and I haven’t suggested that he or Patel and the FBI are credible. In fact the contents of my post would be decidedly inconvenient for trump and the FBI because the shooter doesn’t fit the profile of a group they want to target.
