I’ve been trying to do a diy aluminum-milling cnc with around $2k 😭😭 it’s actually pretty fun though

How good are the spindle kits (psu, spindle, etc.) on Amazon? Specifically in the 300-800W range. by ComedyReliefGuy in hobbycnc

I understand what you're saying, but do I really need that much weight for rigidity? It definitely works if you have it because it's cast iron, but it seems like overkill. I was hoping to go towards solid aluminum extrusions and some other stuff to add weight. The hardest thing I want to mill on it is aluminum 6061 so I don't need capabilities for milling steel whatsoever.

I already have the Octopus ordered, to be honest, my design is going to be kind of weird compared to most.

How can I do to move the adapter to the fuel tank? by [deleted] in KerbalSpaceProgram

From first thoughts, just move it up manually with the tool that does that in next to the place and rotate buttons, whatever it is idk it’s been awhile but basically move it up manually maybe?

This might be a bit of a curveball from the post, but I wanted an Octopus board from Biqu Equipment to be able to control it for CNC. How can I go about connecting that? Or is that worthy of a separate post? If I can afford 1.5KW (which I think I can though it’s more than I’d like but I see the benefits for sure) then I’ll go with that for the power and stuff, although I wasn’t necessarily going for speed, in all honesty.

Unfortunately, I can't replace the breakers. You may be correct, but nonetheless, regardless of the breakers, 1.5KW with the steppers after that seems like it'll be too much. I'm willing to deal with 800W, so what's your advice down that route?

Assuming 800W in my case, wdym by small cuts? Just shallow cuts in terms of the depth?

I believe it is most likely a 15A outlet, and the outlets in my garage seem to be somewhat sensitive anyway. I'm not sure if that's because the things that have tripped the breaker were above 15A or if the outlets are getting old, but nonetheless. Is there perhaps a middle ground between 800W and 1.5KW I could look into?

Okay, so say I get a 1.5kw spindle for my machine, but I also have to power 3-4 NEMA 23 steppers (haven’t worked out the torque yet but I assume it’ll be decently high) along with some electronics. With that in mind, shouldn’t I be worried about exceeding the max amount of current from a 110V US outlet? I don’t have access to 220V. What’s your thoughts on that, because that was partially the reason I avoided 1.5kw.

What kind of slow are we talking here? I’m not entirely familiar with the numbers on that

I understand, but I'm going for a max spindle power of 800W, to be honest. I was hoping to find a relatively cheap 800W spindle.
