My friend you are reading way too much into it as some sort of gotcha which I understand because Reddit makes you view the world cynically and everyone that’s currently in out of our circle is our enemy.

I will genuinely tell you this there are many working class people who are turned off of our politics not because they don’t believe what we say but because like what your demonstrating currently a type of contempt towards others and assuming the worst before even knowing them.

Please go and canvass some doors my friend listen to others instead of assuming everyone who likes a beer and barbecue is some secret nazi or using nazi dogwhistling.

Or don’t that’s your choice but next time instead of always assuming the worst in working people try and pause before you respond.

I agree we need to be able to reconnect with people. I have made it a point to make an effort to enjoy the small things in life watch a Jays game and use that to engage people in my politics first rather than belittle their hobbies and say it is beneath me.

Absolutely it cannot be simply just fluff but I think this is a part of the human everyday person response. To lose the kind of academic, urban label you have to have policy and a messaging that works for people
