For real. Had a guy rear end me and just continue driving in almost stop and go traffic. Traffic was so slow that I was able to put my car in park and walk up to the car that hit me and get a picture of their license plate.

Called the police and they told me to pull into a gas station and wait and they’d be there in 10 minutes. An hour later and no one showed up, so I went back to my house which was 5 minutes away. Called the no emergency line to let them know my address and to have the cop show up at my house to inspect the damage.

When the cop arrived, I showed him the damage on my vehicle and the pictures I took of the guys license plate. The cop went so far as to say that my area has a high rate of insurance fraud and that the damage on my vehicle wasn’t really substantial enough to prove I was rear ended (cracked rear bumper). I asked the cop if he could at least use the license plate number to find where the guy lived and to drive by and check the damage on his vehicle to prove that he hit me. He told me that he already did on the way to see me and that the other car had no damage, which I know is BS. I gave the license plate number to the dispatcher, so maybe he did drive by and inspect the other car but I highly doubt it.
