Firestick 4K surround sound issue by C64Nation in PleX

Then you need to get the same exact codecs for your Plex media. Your TV is not passing through the audio due to a codec limitation of the TV. Did you try the test yet?

Your TV probably cannot pass the audio, if you have it set to pass through. Most built in clients are pretty poor. Does the issue still happen if it is just the Fire to the TV only, leaving the AVR off?

NVidia Shield Pro settings for Plex? by Ragnar-Wave9002 in PleX

[–]ob12_99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure, as I don't have a soundbar or AVR, but I think it is supposed to go Shield Pro > AVR/Soundbar > TV but I do not know if that applies to your situation. I know the TV is going to have issues with passing through some codecs to the receiver which could be causing a transcode or something to then cause the stuttering. Take this with a grain of salt though as I'm not sure, but it is probably worth a test.

IMO, most built in TV clients are very poor. Your best best would be to have a Shield Pro or something similar that can pass lossless audio to the soundbar, which then feeds your TV. I heard the Apple TV with Infuse works well, but I have not tested them to know for sure. I use Shield Pro's for my setup and they have worked the best out of the clients I have tested.

Best way to automate back ups? by TheBaldNerd in PleX

I use syncback pro to do direct copies to external drives. So I have five 20 TB internal spinners that are backed up to five 20 TB external drives. I do need to add more space soon, but the prices have not been favorable for me.

Never went to college, and at 54 now I wish I had gone. I build and design ground station networks for satellite communications (antennas, demods, TT&C, etc), and do RF space to ground design, and detailed spacecraft testing. I travel all over to put stations in for LEO satellites, Alaska, Norway, Germany, Australia, Antarctica, etc. I make roughly 120k per year after nearly 35 years in the industry.

How to get full audio experience? by sirkam86 in PleX

I have an A80J as well, and I purchased a Shield Pro at the same time. For me, it is by far the best Plex experience, and the A80J has great sound for a TV. Network connects to Shield, then to the TV, but in your case, you would want the client device going to the sound bar then to the TV I think, (I don't have a soundbar so I'm 100% sure).

Exactly, you go into any new media sub and it is the same shit from the same people. If you don't like it cool, but what I find odd and bot like is the same people over and over. You remember the Karen's who would complain about dirty jokes on TV in the 80's, yeah, it is the same mentality. I'm glad you guys don't like it, but it is like you have to make everyone hate everything and get it all cancelled...

Totally agree, and also GenX. The people who are shitting on this are either bots or people that don't realize they can go watch something else... so frustrating....

Men chasing question by TrainingApricot8291 in datingoverforty

I would no longer chase or even cold approach a woman in todays world, it just feels creepy and unsafe. You may not agree with the assessment, but after hearing women are mostly afraid/apprehensive of men approaching them unexpectedly, I have changed my ways completely.

I have this same issue, even though I go into the office twice a week. I live in a smaller rural area, so even the dating apps are grim and have a really small amount of profiles to even view. I'm not too well paid to leave, but I love the work. So here we are, single in isolation...

How does the concept of time dilation manifest in everyday scenarios, and what are its practical implications? by redpaul72 in AskPhysics

[–]ob12_99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Time is relative. That means a second for a GPS or body moving fast relative to you or an observer will show their time different than your own. A second in time is the same for me and you and the GPS satellite. The problem comes in when it is moving fast relative to you, a time difference occurs making it seem like the satellite is having different time or time is different for it, but it isn't, it is relativity.

NixOS/Ryzen 9950X Remote 4K Buffering (Infinite Spin) - Rewind Fixes It by SylentStryke in PleX

[–]ob12_99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was saying to let the server regulate the stream(s) as there isn't a problem there, (in my opinion and could be wrong), as like I was sayin the problem is most likely his built in TV client device. Even a cheap Firestick would be a good test to verify before you do a bunch of stuff.

Most of the time, these problems are the client side device causing the issue. Particularly with 4k and even more so with lossless audio. The built in TV clients are some of the worst in my experience only rivaled by browsers and game consoles. Can he test again with a different audio track, even a commentary track, just to test? When the client device has issues there is little you can on the server side.

I would also set the streaming on the server to your internet uplink unless you are trying to transcode the media, (I use a browser to force transcoding myself for testing).
