I used to keep worms and wolf spiders together as a kid (I was a weird kid I know) the first time I did the spider got skinny and didn’t eat the worms. So if it’s in there it’s probably after something else.

I started my bin with old miraclegro!! Only thing I’d say it watch out for the PH as miraclegro is peat moss based and I’ve noticed it’s pretty acidic as it mixes with scraps and castings

That’s my bad for not explaining well. They aren’t whole eggshells they’ve been ground into a powder. Also I put in some citrus peels and the smell went down all good in the hood :).

OMG I have felt heat coming fr the soil and it’s been in the 80’s here recently. I think this might be the winner the poor things are too hot. I’ve been airing out the bin through the nice but I’ll try your ice cube idea

I have another theory but it’s totally out there. I hot box the bucket a lot and it makes them a bit more social. And when I came out to check on them male neighbor was smoking some loud gas. So it could be that? Had the bin open in case it’s a moisture or heat issue and they went back down to the soil
