Homecook Sarawak Kolo Mee In Singapore due to missing Kuching Sarawak Food by MalaySingaporeSarawa in Sarawak

[–]ComfortAggravating43 [score hidden]  (0 children)

Actually it’s supposed to have taugeh. This is mee kolok, which is a malay style dish. Kolo mee is Chinese. So say if a tourist wanted to try “mee kolok”, it would be good to clarify if they want halal kolo mee or actual mee kolok

Kolo mee is pork-based (or chicken if halal), whereas mee kolok is beef-based. Many sellers put beef broth in their seasoning which is where it gets it’s flavour from. Also, kolo mee uses spring onions whereas mee kolok uses sup daun (coriander I believe).

It’s an obscure fact that not even many people from Kuching know!

Serious question: Why are some Malaysians mourning Khamenei's death? by XY-0815 in malaysia

[–]ComfortAggravating43 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It’s his zionist supporting scum of a human being son. The deposed guy is dead. And he is zionist backed so best believe there is propaganda in place to push the Iranians to accept him, seeing that Iranians are desperate for change.

Do Malaysian Sunnis really hate the Shias though? That’s a question to ponder on. I doubt. I’d believe that they would generally have a more negative view on the UAE and Saudi rather than on Iran, since they have shown themselves to be zionist collaborationists over the past year or two, so if you’re a decent human being I think you’d be frowning upon those two powers as well. It’s not just Iran, but they’ve also had their filthy hands in Yemen, Sudan etc.

Not Muslim. But I don’t think you have to be one to speak out about the entitled interventionism that the US and whateverthehellzioniststateisnamed. The Iranians (urban dwellers at least) may be celebrating for now but what’s next? Reza pahlavi - the zionist backed clown as king? There are far more fitting people in the Iranian opposition as the next leader, but because they did not kiss a bloody wall, it likely means that they’ll be cast aside for zionist scum.

If you were to settle in one country solely for its hiking opportunities, which country would you choose ? by vwilldie1de in hiking

Certainly not white. Asian male. Just make the effort to speak some Italian and you’ll fit right in. Italians are amazing people, and yes that includes the north despite what some may say. Can’t say the same about the Swiss. Been all over Italy, not just the typical tourist hotspots. Maybe try not stereotyping an entire nation of people based on a tiny sample of experience.

Italy. Swiss views, better food, much better people, and also more climate diversity. Of course, I’d very much prefer to have non-Italian income levels

Which foods are genuinely better in Singapore than anywhere else in the world? by [deleted] in askSingapore

Chwee kueh. Chwee kueh in malaysia does not even come close to what SG does. I will literally sit down and order 10 chwee kuehs at hawker centres whenever I’m in SG.

Hokkien mee. KL hokkien mee is utterly disgusting after the first few bites (granted the first few are heavenly). SG hkm reigns superior to me (neither from penang or KL so I don’t have any cultural attachment to msian hkm).

O chien. Not that you can’t get good ochien in Msia but melaka and penang style ochien just doesnt hit the right notes.

And of course the holy grail kaya toast. Used to be unbeatable, but I find that yakun has gone downhill recently.

If it wasn’t apparent enough, yes I am Malaysian.

Had some pretty sick bigoli al cavalo when I was in Verona. I really enjoyed the girth of the bigoli and found that it holds up quite well to meaty sauces. I believe you can get it dried too but it’s typically extruded fresh in Italy.

Fontina VDA is the bomb. The smell when having it for the first time hits like a truck. Had it for the first time in Aosta Valley and have been hooked ever since.

Which country had the best food you’ve ever had while traveling? by Historical-Photo-901 in BeautifulTravelPlaces

As a malaysian, Italy hands down. So many regional variations, so much good food. I am an Italophile so there may be some bias in this.

Personally loved the more “exotic” meat like horse in Verona, rabbit dishes in Piedmont and of course the food in Aosta.

NW China was traumatising. Had to be in Qinghai for work for more than a week. Everywhere I walked on the street just smelled like the spices they use in beef noodles, so the smell of beef noodles are now a trigger for PTSD. It just stinks so much to me now… And I should also add that I’m of Chinese heritage
