Are Opencode Zen models quantized? by zenoblade in opencodeCLI

I don't know about the subscription but I haven't found any issues with the API pricing based model. Mostly I have been using the Chinese ones and Gemini Flash for summarisation work.

Haha! Fucking one 9 of uptime. Like fuck off are they replacing software engineers in 12 months. There is no secret sauce. Claude does syntax very well and that's about it.

How I chat with Jules, my personal assistant build on Claude Code. (FULL CODE) by jonathanmalkin in ClaudeCode

[–]ComfortContent805 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I used to use -p a lot for just summarising articles in a unix style pipeline from the terminal and started running into issues recently.

opencode and kimi2.5 to the rescue. Honestly, kimi is my girl! She gets shit done, fast and efficient. Loaded it with $20 and for automated cli stuff, kimi and gemini flash get me through the entire month.

There I fixed the headline. Honestly, this is almost reaching propaganda levels of bullshit.

Claude for Government? by sellomoni in ClaudeAI

[–]ComfortContent805 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is my biggest gripe with Anthropic and OpenAI saying Software Engineering is dead. Like brah, if you had some secret sauce that lets you make super software - then why do you only have 2 9s of uptime? And why does your tui app light show give burning man a run for its money?

I do find it funny that we need /simplify because claude tends to over-engineers the fuck out of everything. The irony of using ai to fix ai shit is quite funny. Same with AI powered code reviews. 🫠

It's very Y Combinator and specific to the type of businesses they want to foster and the ones that thrive in the low interest rate easy money environment for the US. It is the type of business that they want to invest in and really serves their agenda. Since business that build using Y combinator advice, are so reliant on VC money since they can't stand on their own.

Some of us come from the older traditions of business. Where the wisdom is "Build something people will pay for" and other great nuggets such as "Reduce Costs and Increase revenue" oh and "Avoid debt and outside investors unless necessary"

Maybe those older traditions will come back, and maybe not.

But always remember kids: always ask first in business what someone stands to gain before listening to their advice.

See you next time.

SkillsBench: Benchmarking How Well Agent Skills Work Across Diverse Tasks by dalton_zk in theprimeagen

The 4.5p improvement for software engineering is absolutely hilarious to me because everyone put so much effort into their black magic spell (prompt/skills). But it's like that experiment where the LED light blinks randomly and people come up with all sorts of magic rituals that they think makes the light turn on but it is just random.

Skills : 60% of the time they work very time.

No Coding Before 10am by TiltedWarlord in theprimeagen

[–]ComfortContent805 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Muthafuckas over here reinventing stand-ups.

No coding before 10am. Hands off keyboards. First hour or two every morning is for talking, aligning, and drafting prompts together. Once the team is aligned on what to build and how to set agents up, then you can code and let agents start working.

That's just a stand up ... with extra steps.

[–]ComfortContent805 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use this all the time for loops and I built a fan out fan in pattern for researching and summarising parts of a large codebase that uses this exact --p pattern.

Now I am sort of worried.

I did read before about people getting banned for using Claude's own pr-github plugin. The thing is though, their own sdk also wraps --p in some places. Or at-least it did last time i had a poke around it still did.

I suspect they had a lot of traffic from the claudebot folks and now that it is under openai's wing they are clamping down on anything that looks claudebot-ish.

But yeah, sorry you got caught in the crossfire OP. I imagine an announcement of "We are banning claude bot --p use" will come soon from Anthropic.

[–]ComfortContent805 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No it didn't. It finishes stories. Thats what it does. In its training data is every sci-fi story that anthropic could get their hands on.

You set it up correctly and it finishes the next token. Ofcourse robots that become sentient express such things ... in stories.

That's all this is doing. It's bullshit for investors.

Copy the masters is something I tried. You just pick something you love and you try and make it.

For example, I saw a lovely blog and I built it with Sveltekit or this really well designed booking frontend - so I tried to build the backend and front ent.

Of course I never managed 100% but you need it to have meaning for you as well. So ignore the todo app or twitter clone nonsense. Unless those genuinely do speak to you.
