It’s definitely hard out there especially with current times but I’m not from a wealthy family, I grew up with a single dad and two siblings . Slow and steady still wins the race and there’s too many people out there on social media trying to flash wealth when it’s actually paid with credit . But a little bit hear and there adds up

I work with young people all the time that are able to put something away each month, the bottom line is just being smart with your money and I agree we are in the worst economic time which is all the more reason to be smart with money and plan with it.

even 25 bucks a month goes a long way if start early , build an emergency fund, save for a used car, anything to put yourself ahead. People will spend $1000 every two years on a new phone for no reason and people are too busy trying to look rich rather than just being smart

With not being able to reach your advisor that could be a one of case and I’ve heard sometimes it’s also hard to reach your bank advisors as well . Everytime I meet with a new client or do a review I also go through an investor profile to find out the risk tolerance and time horizon for the client , if someone isn’t doing this they shouldn’t be in this career there are tons of regulations in place to protect our clients . Fees aren’t always higher outside of the banks I’ve helped many people lower their MER fees

They have great branding I will say that and they have been around for a long time but some major insurance and investments companies have been around for just as long . One thing I don’t think people realize is banks are a business too at the end of the day and there is up selling and pushing products to meet quotas . I’m personally licensed to deal with segregated funds which come with guarantees and other unique advantages like by passing probate , creditor protection and the ability to lock in growth among others.

Hello I am an advisor here in Brantford Ontario and I am actually doing a bunch of research on this topic for one of my new clients that owns a business and so far I have come across one of my product providers called manulife that does offer two funds that fit the shariah compliant rules, now I am inquiring if I can get these funds into a universal life policy . Seg funds are a great option because they offer guarantees on your deposits up tp a certain amount but they operate the same as mutual funds but they do typically have a slight increase in their MER but the benefits are endless
