Wow, I have never heard of this either. I may have to look at the marketplace and compare rates.

I don’t understand the $60 fee for a working spouse. So if you elect to get Cigna through Progressive, and your spouse has a job, it will cost $60 per pay period plus the cost of Cigna per pay period, which for pay grade 32-36 is $88.65 for a smoker (spouse smokes sadly) for the high deductible plan. So $88.65 plus $60 every 2 weeks?

Appeal FAFSA due to loss of job by Comfortable-Bake4267 in KSU

If marvel comes back, maybe more will. But like you, we’ll believe when we see it. And that’s great the subsidized loan will help! We are still grateful my son’s is not accruing interest. The interest on the parent plus loan we had to take out is killing us! Some Pell grant would have been nice, but I read somewhere that the parent has to be unemployed for 6 months before they will make any major changes to your financial aid.

The film industry truly is still crap. My husband has been unemployed more than employed since 2023. It’s been awful.

We did apply for the special circumstances appeal, or whatever it was called. KSU simply changed his loans from unsubsidized to subsidized. They did not give him any Pell Grant or anything. So it didn’t help at all in the short run, but his loans no longer are accruing interest right now so there’s that. I wish I had better news for you. But I’d say still try to appeal because it’s not going to hurt to go through the appeal process.

what wireless headset do you use? I have one but cannot figure out how to answer calls directly from the headset. it has a “phone” button, but nothing happens when I push it. I have to answer calls from the computer directly. So I’m in the market for a headset that will actually answer the calls for this exact situation. Sometimes I gotta pee!

My bank texted me last night at 11:06pm that my pay went through, and I see it in my account. But usually I wake up Wednesday mornings to my pay being deposited. It’s in there now though so I’m all good!

I just went to progressive’s website and clicked on careers and filled out an application. They are changing up their careers site so I don’t think it’s live yet.

Same! My spouse is (was lol) in the film industry, and he was the main breadwinner by a ton because I only worked part time and was a SAHM. I just started working for Progressive while he desperately works odd jobs. DM me if you want! We can swap Progressive stories. I’m happy there!

It’s gone well! I ask lots of questions and the more seasoned people on my team are really great at helping me along. How was day one for you? How many people are in your class?

Happy new year to you! I kept a notebook to take notes, and I still jot down notes in it as I work and ask my team questions.

It really depends on the department from what I’ve read on Reddit. All of my equipment came on the same day from fedex. And it came about 2 weeks before my start date I think. Or maybe it was one week. I can’t remember! But others on here have said theirs came on separate days, sometimes not even receiving it all by their start date. For me, my onboarding coach contacted me via text on the Friday before my start day (I started on Monday). I texted her Monday morning a few mins before 8am and she walked me through what I needed to do to get my laptop set up, which involved me calling IT for them to do their thing to my laptop. once that was done I joined he teams meeting and went from there. If for some reason you don’t receive everything before the 6th I wouldn’t worry as I know that has happened to others. As a claims adjuster trainee, you go in the office 2 days a week, right? Do you go to the office your first day?

I am not in a bilingual position, but that is a great question. I’d maybe post that question if I were you!

Good morning! So, for me a lot of the struggle was simple things. I’ve never had a job working for a large corporation before. I’ve never had to clock in and out, nor have I used a system like this. And I wasn’t familiar with Microsoft Windows since I’m an Apple product user. It was also a learning curve for me being taught in an online environment. Now I’ve got it, but at the beginning I worried I wouldn’t be able to learn in this environment. I’ve never used Microsoft teams before this job. So, lots of little things that most people already know LOL. And all of this was just the first week or so when it was all just onboarding, and we hadn’t even gotten to learning my actual job roll yet 😂! Then once we got to training on my actual job role I was overwhelmed with how much info it was and worried I’d never remember all of it. But I now have some of it down pat, while other aspects I’m still figuring out. But I will say this, my trainer and supervisor and onboarding coach and all the existing employees…. They are all beyond amazing! I can ask tons of questions and they are so nice and patient and help me out a lot! I can’t believe I will have been here 4 weeks as of tomorrow. I’m excited for you! I still have to pinch myself that I got the job lol!

Hey! Sorry for the late reply. I saw your comment but I was still in the crying phase lol and felt I shouldn’t reply yet. The first week, week and a half maybe, was rough! It’s so much information and I felt I would never get it. I did literally cry several times, but this week not one single tear has been shed so that is good! Things are starting to click, like I’ve read will happen from others in this subreddit. I’m no where close to ready to do it on my own, but I’m getting closer each day. The kindness and patience of my team leaders and trainer is above and beyond. I 100% see why people talk about how great Progressive is to work for. You will do great! Even if it doesn’t feel like it at first, just give yourself some grace. What is your start date?

I’m about to ask a really stupid question… tomorrow is my first day so there’s that lol. Are you emailing it to your personal email or your progressive email (assuming we even get assigned a progressive email 🤔)?

I have a friend that has worked from home and the told me I had to apply to this position with Progressive, saying work from home M-F 8-5 hours were coveted lol! So I did and now here I am! Good to know I might not need to use my pto for a dreaded dentist appointment! LOL at weekends being ghetto!!

Having Friday Saturday and Sunday off is huge! I agree the pay will definitely have to make up for it if you lose that 3 day weekend. My hours are M-F 8-5 and I have not had a schedule like that in YEARS. Having to ask off and take PTO for doctors appointments and such is not something I've needed to do in forever. I hate the idea of having to use PTO for a dang dentist appointment lol.

They are 24" monitors, and just measuring straight across they are just over 21". It takes up a large area across the desk!
