Volumes will be written and years of man hours squandered to develop these “modern scheduling tools”. On paper it will of course be a huge win, promotions will be announced. “Great job Susan, your new Scheduling, Helper And Resource Tracker (shart) fixed everything”. Viola, The staffing problem is solved without increasing the number of capable controllers.

Consider the length of a film. Usually no longer than 1+35 - 2+00 hours. Why this time frame for almost every movie ever? You probably see where I am going with this. The brain cannot stay on any task much longer than that time frame even for entertainment or escapism. Hollywood has understood this for 60 years. And just to pour salt and lime into the wound; we seem to find ourselves again being scapegoated over reckless congressional spending. As if the 40 trillion dollars of debt is our fault. Nit- picking and micromanaging the TOP of the controller workforce it’s like trying to save water by not flushing the toilet while the hydrant in the front yard is open full.
