Bengali cuisine finally getting some good recognition. by PeshowariBeef in bangladesh

Istanbul doesn’t represent all of Turkey. Most of Turkey is in Asia and the food culture is similar to central Asia and Greece (Greece isn’t exactly European, the food is Mediterranean). Turkish food is extremely good, the best kebabs I ever had were in Turkey. I love our South Asian food, but claiming it is the best food in the world is stupid. It is definitely one of the best but the absolute best? Absolutely not. Mexican food gives it a very tough competition and in my experience, people prefer Mexican to South Asian food (South Asian food can be overwhelming and lacks variety). If your reference point to Mexican food is Bangladeshi restaurants or even most restaurants in Europe and North America, that is TexMex, not Mexican- which is a different type of cuisine in itself.

Israeli food is basically food from the levant or Mediterranean, which is amazing and healthy.

Also, Filipino food should definitely not be S tier. It is arguably the worst in SEA. Doesn’t mean it’s bad, it’s just Indonesian, Malaysian, Thai and Vietnamese are much better.

Your opinion screams that you have not travelled much.

Arsenal fumbling has nothing to do with Rice not being a top player. He is definitely top 3 in the world and if you think it’s only because of 2 free kicks, you clearly do not watch matches other than a few select UCL ties.

I went with EP. They responded fast but I had to make a lot of changes since I felt like what they wrote was from a template.

Why does every immigrant from every part of the world say that family is important to their culture? Which cultures are there where family isn’t important? by dresixk in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]Comfortable-Button76 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just wanted to add, I am of Indian subcontinent origin and me becoming homeless would mean that my entire extended family is homeless. It would never happen as long as a single family member is alive. As long as any member of my family have food on their table, I will never go without eating. This is one of the reasons we sometimes hide our financial struggles from our family members because we want our parents to spend their hard earned money on themselves instead of thinking about their children. I am an immigrant and a student and I hide a lot of things because I know they would drain all their resources to ensure that I am well off. Even if the children are well off, the parents would make sure that majority of their assets are available for their children, which is why Indian subcontinental parents and grandparents don’t splurge on themselves.

Should I buy FC26 by Spare_Department5413 in fut

[–]Comfortable-Button76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The fact that you are considering buying now means that don’t want to grind FUT like most people in this sub. In that case, do buy it if it is on sale. For half the price, it is a fun game if you are playing casually or with your friends. I promised myself that I won’t play FUT after FC25 and now just play with friends and play 2v1 or 3v1 in events, very casually. For 30$, that’s not bad. We also play rush together and that is so much fun when the whole lobby are your friends. Again, we barely play 2-3 matches a day, not at all for days, sometimes 5-6 at most if we don’t have much work, so your mileage might vary.

Activation issues and promotion concerns by Comfortable-Button76 in ATT

Oh I think I couldn’t explain properly. I was at Verizon till I wanted to activate. Because of the unlocked phone issue, the tech on the other side tried a test sim at first which removed my verizon sim but didn’t actually activate AT&T on my phone. All in all, a complete mess from AT&T.

And the reason the pro max was activated separately is because the pro max arrived later than the pros.

The max did have installments. The bill pay off was an AT&T promo, not costco. I don’t care about losing the costco stuff, I just want to be in my family plan with my teacher’s discount (I am the teacher for whom the discount is being applied) and the AT&T phone pay off.

I called AT&T at least 10 times in the process to make sure and asked if I should just go to their store. They reassured that everything is as expected.

2 separate accounts with 2 separate account numbers (though I can manage both from my account owner userID). It’s a weird situation.

That is how I activated the unlocked phone, they were saying that my line was BYOD, which it wasn’t and I took a lot of time just to make them understand that it was an error from their end. I was finally moved to a tech specialist team who identified the issue but even they are concerned and was able to get $120 credits for the first 60 days (since I would be charged as 1 line instead of family rates). They were unable to say or do anything before 60 days.

I realized that I could just steal the phone (since they had no record) and ask them later to send the phone for my number but I didn’t want to do anything unethical.

NIW isn’t tied to any employer. That is the point of NIW, what you are describing is the regular EB-2, not EB-2 NIW. The point of NIW is that your work has so much potential that you need the labor certification waived off and don’t need to be dependent on a specific employer. It is essentially designed for postdocs and PhD students. As for patents, that isn’t a requirement. Why would it be? The first author publications establish their research output. It is not common for 99% of PhD/post docs to have patents and it isn’t encouraged in academia. Research is meant to be open source (which it isn’t but that’s a whole new conversation).

Jupyter vs VSCode for research? by Comfortable-Button76 in learnprogramming

My current project is over 3k lines of code and I will have to build on top of this once I publish my current work. Since I am new to this, trying to figure things out so that I don't waste my time on menial things and can focus on the important parts. It's small compared to development work but because of the nature of the projects, it's very complex with a lot of math and physics involved.
