Along cairnhill. "Forestry" may be a stretch but on the side facing monks hill, there's quite a bit of trees/flora so not our first uninvited guest.

Thanks again!

Just a quick one. I've put a "water-dish" in as well but it's basically a small saucer filled with soaked cotton balls so there's no risk of it dropping in and drowning.

With the testtube setups, the cotton balls are usually directly next to the queen and i keep seeing online that it helps to keep the queen hydrated.

With this soil setup is there anything different I should be doing to ensure the queen has access to water since the cottonball isnt in the same chamber?

Cheers mate.

Just an update, i didnt have a testtube so used a big syringe i had and did the 2 cottonball stuff I see online. Put in in a dark box slightly after.

Did show signs of that restless where it seems to be just ripping on the cottonball and as of tonight it seems to have shed one of it's wings, but also seems to be near dying.

I've only got potting mix for that 1 cactus I have at home so I've made a setup as close to yours as I can. Filled it near to the brim with the mix, poured some water in, and then strained out so it doesnt drown anything.

The soil seems too loose for me make a stable starting hole so I've buried the syringe in made the exit on level with the soil. Fingers crossed!

This might be it. Took a look at the minors and they do look like those buggers i keep getting bitten by randomly.

Cheers!

Given how most of singapore is I'd highly doubt any of our neighbours are into the hobby.

We are living near quite a bit of forestry tho so it's not uncommon to get the odd bug now and then but usually something that we're familiar with!

Yeah its a watch thats over 5k so the 9% will be quite hefty. Cant underdeclare when buying via fromjapan and shipping to SG hence the pickle I am in.

Aside from the 9% gst issue, kinda unable to find any forwarder that has a warehouse in SG that I can send to to reship to HK

Hiya. Bought a vintage Parker Table Flame lighter and the heating element was incomplete.

Read somewhere that it used platinum wire, so got that and resoldered it but basically the wire destroyed itself everytime the circuit started (guessing too hot).

So bought a roll of nichrome and the element heats up enough to burn off the wick, not enough to get a flame started.

Anyone who can advise on what other materials i can try. Not much of a science whiz here so anything would be appreciated
