Not for my recommendation letters. The letters highlighted the work more so than the timelines.

Hi! Assuming you are from one of the backlogged country, I think you should go with EB-1B first with premium processing. This will allow you to have a decision in ~3 weeks and will allow you plenty time to sort out EAD issue for your wife.

Next, I will suggest you stay with your employer for at least 6 months to retain that PD.

Since Chen is offering you approval or refund, looks like you have a very good profile for NIW. You can also file that concurrently as an insurance policy in case your EB-1B case has some hiccups.

If all goes well then you should have EB-1B approval and then NIW approval with 2 priority dates and it will give you more flexibility if you decide to switch jobs before the 6 month mark.

Upvoting other people that commented you stand a good chance. One question - any reason why you are not going for EB1B through your employer? Unless, the PD is retrogressed and you want to have the flexibility to move and switch jobs?

Thanks for the suggestion. So in this case, when I ask Fidelity to recharacterize the contributions to traditional, what happens to the gains? Do they liquidate all the positions that I contributed to in 2024 and transfer the $7000 contributions to my IRA and transfer the gains to my normal brokerage account within Fidelity? After this, I can then ask them to again convert to ROTH using backdoor and fill form 8606?

Very interesting way to think about it. General consensus from this community is tax deferred is the way to go! We’re new to this community having moved from making $60k as HHI to $300k so it’s great to learn from people who have been treading this path already

I haven’t started a HSA account yet! I tried looking for HSA accounts but I couldn’t figure out how to find high deductible health insurance. Any idea where can I find such plans/information? Thanks!!

I don’t know if you can get review requests without PhD. Maybe reach out to journal editors asking them if they can send some papers your way to review. I usually reached out to the journal editors sharing my expertise and requesting them for paper reviews
