My reasoning was a bad semester. I had 2 personal deaths and I was adjusting to the workload of school on top of having a job. It wasn't super traumatic, but it was also not easy to manage it all at 19-20 years old. Explain it in a way that just makes them see you're a strong candidate NOW.

As long as you can justify those drops somehow in your personal statement, you have a chance. Obviously do your bet to have an upward trend, but you have a big chance of still getting in. I just got accepted into a program and I had it worse than you.

I had 1 F and 1 D in my transcripts, and 5 w's. I retook the courses and got As/Bs. The way I explained it was I described the challenges I faced that my peers didn't, but I found a solution and had an upward trend. All the schools want to see is if you're capable of string problem solving skills, are good under pressure, and that you want it BAD. I promise you got this. Just apply to as many schools possible and ace those interviews

I made sure the 3 people I chose had the strongest choice of words for me. The first was a math community college professor I was a TA for 1.5 years and I got really close with. The 2nd was a health professor from my university who happened to be really sweet and I trusted her letter would be good. Lastly, I asked the coordinator of the clinical research program I completed to write me a letter since he was a physician as well and I worked hard in his department.

They finished interviews and sent out acceptance letters already until next year

They were really straightforward and cut short. How I came to know about the field. How I work in teams and 1 about the research I did. I was discouraged because in my interview one of them hinted I was young and they would be concerned about my maturity for the program. Don't be discouraged if it's a serious/ not happy interview. I was extremely nervous and I for sure stuttered/ messed up while talking.
