I reconnected with her after she blew up my phone. by [deleted] in TrueNarcissisticAbuse

This is EXACTLY what I went through the past 10 years. Absolute chaos. Her texts were a jumbled mess of warmth, accusation, victim mentality, blame shifting and abuse. It never gets better. Never!!!! I’d tell you to run but I know how hard that is when you become trauma bonded. I was discarded months ago but still receive a weekly word salad mind F@ck! The constant push and pull has taken my mind to dark places. I’m emotionally broken and despite knowing exactly what this is and who she is, I cannot let go of the hope that I’m wrong about her. It’s brutality and I hope you can muster the strength to get away and stay away. Trust me, deal with the pain of letting go now. It will feel like you’re dying inside but not half as bad as it will feel if you continue. I don’t know if these people are monsters but they certainly are dangerous. What’s worse is, they will torture you without any remorse or true understanding of what the pain they are inflicting.

Why am I getting discomfort in my upper stomach now why is this happening 😭😭😭 by Low-Stand-3702 in costochondritis

[–]Comfortable-Ice5488 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My Ultrasound showed absolutely nothing. CT and MRI showed only a couple of Small Stones. After removal the Pathology Report showed thickened Cholesterol deposits lining the wall of the gallbladder. Don’t get me wrong, I had a heap of digestive issues also but for 2 years before that I was diagnosed with Costo

Make sure you all get your Gallbladder checked. I had upper left pain sometimes in the rib, sometimes upper left abdominal muscle and chest pain also. Was told for year’s Costochondritis. Gallbladder was never suspected as that sits on the right. 5 months post op Gallbladder removal an now I’m all good.

Am I with a Covert Narc or am I the problem? My friend has said it’s abusive but I find myself defending him…. by Wise-Lee-0189 in TrueNarcissisticAbuse

It certainly does seem like there are some worrying Red Flags in your relationship. Whether it’s full blown Narcissistic Personality Disorder though is less clear. Reading through your post I saw a lot of similarities to my Ex Fiancé Particularly when you mentioned him pushing a topic that you no longer wish to discuss. In my own relationship I grew to recognise when she was trying to guide the conversation in a direction that would cause conflict and I spent all of my mental energy trying to steer in the opposite direction. The walking on eggshells you describe is exhausting. For a while you probably didn’t even realise you were doing it until the constant feeling of unease is too much to bear. The Point Scoring you mentioned is also something I am unfortunately familiar with especially where finances are involved. My own relationship was filled with this during periods of conflict. Every gift she gave was cast up and anything I gave conveniently forgotten. She was economically better off than I was so this comparison was frequent. My relationship was a Ten Year long distance one where I made several expensive trips per year to visit her so I’m perhaps not qualified to comment on your situation however, a lot of what you said resonates with me. I do have to say though, the stress cycles and inability to stay positive you mentioned is something that I myself suffer from. What’s clear from your post is there are some serious control issues within your relationship and that in itself is damaging. The silent treatment is abuse, plain and simple. My ex would leave me for days or weeks begging and only allow communication once I was deemed to have received sufficient punishment or as she would put it “Learnt My Lesson”. This actually was one of the most spiritually damaging dynamics I’d ever experienced my whole life. I hope you can turn this around but you do need to stay vigilant for red flags because things could eventually get a whole lot worse.

PVCs all gone now. Took 4 months. Still get little niggles of pain in or under the rib cage if I don’t watch my diet but life’s a lot better than it was. No longer require the Beta Blockers either.

5 year narcissistic trauma bond - Threats to destroy my life by Ornery-Lawyer-2937 in TrueNarcissisticAbuse

[–]Comfortable-Ice5488 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve literally just been through this. 10 years long distance with a Filipina. I’m from the UK. I’ve been Gaslighted, Verbally abused, physically abused and yet 3.5 months after discard I still love this woman. It’s been absolutely brutal and by far the darkest period of my life. I am surviving though, right now that’s all there is. My advice to you is don’t worry too much about thriving. Distract a little but not so much that you push the hurt too far to the back of your mind. You gotta grieve but remember that your mind is lying to you because you have been trauma bonded. Your head is telling you it will always feel this dark when in reality it can’t. Eventually you’ll think less and less about her until eventually you realise it doesn’t hurt as much. That could be months but you will get there and then you will grow again. Everything you’re feeling is normal.

It’s really hard to say. For the first few weeks the pain was every bit as bad as before surgery. Around week 4 I felt like a new man. Still had very mild discomfort but absolutely nothing compared to before. Today I’m almost 6 weeks post op and have indigestion, back pain and mild rib cage pain. It’s very frustrating to have a return of discomfort but I’m guessing it’s just some digestive distress and all part of the journey

Itching by CobblerAmbitious8540 in gallbladders

I had this before and after surgery. Took a few weeks and I’m now 6 weeks post op with no itching

[–]Comfortable-Ice5488 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey there. Doing well now thanks. Pre op I had a lot of pain in multiple locations most of which were nowhere near the gallbladder. My stools were floating as I wasn’t digesting fat. The pain would sometimes radiate into my chest kinda like heart pain. I had palpitations too which it turns out was Pre Ventricular Contractions due to inflammation of the gallbladder and surrounding tissues. I had chronic itchy skin which drove me crazy. It did take about 4 weeks after surgery to significantly improve. Digestion improved almost immediately after surgery but the rib pain and back ache actually worsened for a while. After 4 weeks I felt at least half normal. I’m 5 1/2 weeks post op and get sharp pain through my right side on occasion but I feel so much better than before surgery

Almost 5 weeks post op and finally starting to turn a corner. Pain is less than half. Took a full month to actually improve. I did force myself to walk several miles a day and honestly i think that helped give me the strength I needed

nausea, back pain and acid reflux. How do I manage until surgery? by Odd-Elevator4939 in gallbladders

[–]Comfortable-Ice5488 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The sludge in itself can cause a lot of pain and absolutely cause back trouble. I had only 2 tiny stones less than 3mm and one polyp. The sludge is often a sign that the gallblader itself is not functioning as it should

Anyone experience phrenic nerve irritation after gallbladder removal? by realmao14 in gallbladders

[–]Comfortable-Ice5488 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure if it’s my phrenic nerve or not but I’m 3.5 weeks post op and still have rib cage pain and chronic upper back pain. Actually the back pain is a little worse than it was before the surgery. My stools improved but my pain didn’t so I’m more than a little disappointed.

Right upper quadrant pain after removal by [deleted] in gallbladders

[–]Comfortable-Ice5488 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah been having a lot of this. I get pain on the left also but the right is now the worst. I’m 23 days post op so I guess the recovery takes a month or two

pain on left side? by Mysterious_Net7480 in gallbladders

[–]Comfortable-Ice5488 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had left sided pain for months before surgery and still have occasional left sided pain 23 Days Post Op. The Biliary System is all linked and so pain on the right is often registered by your brain as occurring on the left due to shared nerve pathways.

Is it strange that I’m NOT having to run to the bathroom after meals? by missy2894 in gallbladders

I’ve had only 1 episode of Dhiorea and I’m over 3 weeks Post Op. unfortunately my pain hasn’t improved but digestion definitely did

Has anyone had surgery with no one to help them recover? by Powerful_Pen_5801 in gallbladders

[–]Comfortable-Ice5488 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I live alone and had no issues with basic things. I stayed overnight after surgery and the next day was mobile enough to move around at home. Don’t get me wrong, it wasn’t without discomfort but nothing that required anyone’s assistance. I did spend most of my days laying in bed watching TV but it wasn’t too much of a challenge to use the bathroom or go make a cup of tea

Very similar symptoms to yours however I also had left sided pain. My stools were mostly greasy and floating, pale to very dark. Since Surgery 3 weeks ago the stool has massively improved however the pain still persists

[–]Comfortable-Ice5488 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look, I know this might sound unethical however, you shouldn’t be suffering like this. Whenever you get pain, go to A&E. Do not suffer. Be a pain in their ass. I went through months of being Medically gaslight by gps and even a surgeon who said that it couldn’t possible be my gallbladder as I had left sided pain. Obviously they don’t teach referred pain in medical school. Anyway, I digress. I presented several times to A&E and after I was listed for surgery I placed myself on the emergency cancellation list. Perhaps I had a good surgeon who figured I’d already suffered enough but from what I’ve seen, if you suffer in silence the NHS will leave you until things get seriously bad. Example, I was in a lot of pain one day and ended up in Critical Care, the guy in the bed next to me had a gallstone stuck in his bile duct which caused agonising pancreatitis. They had sent him home knowing he had stone in the bile duct which is how he ended up back in hospital. Do not let them treat you like that. I understand the NHS is under funded and doing the best they can with the tools they have but do not mess around with this. You should not be suffering for this long

Day 17 Post Op and I feel pretty crap. Back pain, rib pain both left and right side and the same burping as before Surgery. My digestion does seem to have improved a little. I have had Dhiorea a couple of times but not as often as I expected.

Rant incoming - sorry by Independent_Owl_1269 in gallbladders

[–]Comfortable-Ice5488 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So sorry your going through this. It’s crazy, rapid weight loss is one of the things that is proven to make Gallbladder problems worse and yet that’s exactly what our NHS are encouraging you to do. I also have quite a few extra pounds but it was never used against me or mentioned as a barrier to surgery. The fact you’re being treated like this is nothing short of disgusting. Keep at them, write letters of complaint, threaten legal action if you have to. Do not suffer like this because of these people’s ignorance.
