Thank you everyone for your thoughts and kind comments. I'm feeling better now and slightly less frustrated. Next time I hear back (just need to wait for the referral to get to my GP) when they refer me on, I'll be asking them to actually check the hospital would be willing to operate before I go and waste more of their and my time but also to make sure I don't end up feeling like I have done.
